Stayed at the Sandgate hotel directly opposite the beach The beach is pebbles but really quite nice and on a clear day you can see across the English Channel to France

Lovely walks along the newly refurbished front. Pebble beach, reasonably safe swimming and great areas in the park behind

We live within walking distance of the beach but never tire of being there. Lovely cafe's and pubs are plentiful Interesting shops add to the attraction. At night if it is clear the twinkling lights of France add to the enchantment

The water is crystal clear. The beach is clean and the town itself is also nice and clean. Beautifully kept. This place is truly a hidden gem.

Stones, stones and more stones ! The tide was in when we visited and unfortunately there wasn't much beach to see. Nice area though and was fun skimming the stones into the sea

Nice terrace for a drink but windy as. Lucky the sun was out. Check in easy room adequate for the price. Breakfast a let down as bacon tough and limited cereals and no fruit.

I grew up here and now live here after many years in London, so I'm biased. Great selection of walks, restaurants, cafes, hotels - something for everyone and consistently clean beaches. Recommend this as a base to explore South East Kent - Hythe, Lympne, St...More

Pot luck really. Beach is being replenished at moment. Avoid rock groins. I've been lucky at the riviera end, which is about 500yards east of Sandgate Castle. Good luck.

I think so, yes, but you will find them inside buildings like shops on streets, not on the seafront itself. I suggest you google it direct - amusement arcades, Folkestone. You should get addresses that way. Good luck
