The museum is not the biggest but is packed with interest. The building is superb and the interior is wood-panelled, with a large sweeping staircase in the entrance. Worth seeing is the Egyptian room which is like walking into a pharoahs tomb. Through-out the many rooms are exhibits to peek anyone's interest. …

Wonderful museum best accessed via the woodland walkways from the park, full of local history and areas of Asian and Egyptian relics based in a two storey mansion the museum and park are now owned by Kirklees and are free to visit

I have been coming here ever since I was a child and loved it. Only thing I dislike is that the entire museum is quite dark and gloomy. A couple more lights wouldn’t hurt :)
