We visited the gardens on 24 September, mainly because they were holding a book sale. We came away with a dozen books! As we have a dog we were unable to go into the house, but we walked round the gardens. They are worth visiting....More

Sadly the house is closed now for winter but the garden and grounds are worth a visit. Wonderful vistas. Mature trees and rhododendrons. Lots of magnificent camellias in bud. Good long walks ... The lake is worth the detour as is the grotto. A gentle...More

Lovely gardens even on a rainy day but when we got to the restaurant we found the Toilets were across the courtyard and round the corner. We were confronted by what looked like an old shack. Dog friendly restaurant? Not really, as we had to...More

Thank you for your comments. However, I certainly don't think our toilets can be described as a "shack"! We have a baby changing mat, Dyson hand dryers and plenty of space inside the toilet; they are also clean and tidy. We don't allow dogs into...More

An excellent guided to from an informed and interesting host. The house is well worth a visit and although it was September the gardens still had sights to see. I recommend the walk to the Iron Age hill fort.

Nice tea rooms and interesting house, with good tour guides. Lovely gardens. Interesting that this was a setting for Rosamunde Pilcher TV series and attracts lots of German tourists

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The guide was amazing, Her knowledge of the family, house and contents was so interesting and informative. I have been coming to Cornwall for 60 years and have never visited Pencarrow. What an oversight on my part.

I had the pleasure of living relatively close for 7 years, and visited it frequently for aa lovely walk through the gardens and of course the cream tea. 3 or 4 hours sounds nice. Don't be in a hurry. It is really lovely!
