Sadly disappointing. While we understand the weather will have affected the gardens, the biggest effect appears to be neglect. The tearooms may or may not be good - we didn't stay to find out.

The “rose garden “ was so sad. Neglected. Full of weeds and long grass. Pile of rubbish in one place. They should take the brown sign down.

I used to enjoy visiting but the attitude of the lady who runs the place is so off-putting - she never greets you and acts as if she is doing you a favour!

They must spend a lot of time sorting the grounds out here as they are always immaculate when we arrive. Hardly a leaf out of place. Easy for wheelchairs as we often take my elderly parents here.

We popped in here for afternoon tea in the Summer. Very pleasant garden setting and lovely tea and scones.

There is a small cafe here and you can take a walk around what might once have been a typical English garden of a large house.
