We love the peace and tranquillity of Llyn Geirionnydd which makes the car journey along the narrow road [with passing places] from Trefriw really worthwhile. It’s a good idea to keep a sharp lookout for the small signs to the lake. On previous visits we...More

Not easy to find but a little jewel. Go to the far end and play in the stream or the gorge or sit on a grassy bank with a picnic.

Our friends wanted to show us the lake for it’s great location and beautiful photographic opportunities and it did not fail to impress. Llyn Geirionydd is so picturesque and feels like you are so far away from civilisation it’s beautiful. There were people swimming in...More

This is another beautiful lake in Snowdonia you can walk along, not quite around, but you choose how much climbing you want to do into the hills surrounding this tranquil place. If you prefer you can cycle round here, too, as there are lots of...More

Love it up here, for a circular walk around the lake, a swim or paddle, a picnic or a BBQ in summer, nice at any time of year. Toilets and bins all available - sadly no overnight camping allowed.

If you don't cope with single track roads, with passing places, then this isn't for you. If your nerves can, then this is a gorgeous route to take in Snowdonia. Once you get to the lake, as it isn't a reservoir, boating, and other water...More

It's a bit off the beaten track and so not that easy to find, but perhaps that's why it's always so peaceful. Definitely take the camera for the views! They are glorious and you can drive there from Trefriw or Bettws if you don't fancy...More
