Visited this wonderful zoo and it was a dream! Such a non-profit feel about the place; it really is all about the animals. Where else can you get a trip to the zoo, an animal handling session and a feeding session for under 20 quid? There are so many opportunities to get up close and personal with so many beautiful... Go see, Went with my two kids, 6 and 13 and my two nephews 7 and 10. All absolutely loved it. Obviously with it being at night not all the animals can be seen but the huge amount of lights more than make up for that. A lot of work has gone into this it's well worth a visit.

What a great place..... we visited here with my sons primary school. Very educational for them the staff were informative and friendly. The kids loved the part when they got to hold a small snake, giant snail, and a house mouse. The animal enclosures were very clean as the whole place was. Was a lovely day and will be back... More

Popped along to the illuminations tonight, not really sure what to expect. Was very impressed with the whole setup. Had a really fun night with our 4 year old. There were some fun rides for wee ones, nice play park, the illuminations were really beautifully done, with a great family festive atmosphere. We had some burgers and hot dogs finished... More

Visited this zoo recently and had a great day.All animals appear well cared for and are easily visible. There are even small pens where children can pet the goats and rabbits etc. Also visited the cafe for a snack which was good. I would recommend this zoo over Edinburgh if you have children especially but I would and will visit here... More

Had an excellent day here, very impressed. Animals all had appropriate enclosures, and seemed very well cared for. My toddler loved all the animals and walked right round, it's exactly the right size of place for a toddler. Good value for money. Had lunch in the cafe which if busy would be rather cramped, I had my small baby with... More

Took our 2 grandchildren on Saturday night for the Zoo Illuminations and had a great time. Unfortunately you don't get to see many animals as many of the enclosures are in darkness and others that were lit up, all the glass was 'steamed up' and sometimes hard to see what was inside. What we did see was enjoyable and the... More

Friday is a great day to visit as it's very quiet, so easy access to all the exhibits. When we arrived, the animals hadn't been fed yet, so we're all out looking for the keepers. The kids can go into the enclosures with the small animals. The place feels a little tired, but works are afoot to extend the enclosures.... More
