    Nice place to visit
Very pleasant vinery with a beautiful view! Their self made olive oil is exceotional in taste, never tried such a fine and smooth one. We tasted only 2 vines, but we loved both. For me the rosé, for my wife the dry red was the one we had to bring home. A great experience if you visít crete, I can warmly suggest to visit while you are one a car trip.

Peaceful family winery with great views
Only 30min from Heraklion but off the beaten track and a world away. Family winery producing 20k bottles of organic indigenous wine per year. Varieties include vidiano and mantilari. Six-wine tasting only 10 euros. Also did the olive oil and paired cheese platter. A tour of the cellar and production equipment was a highlight. Wonderful views. We went on a Sat and it was very quiet and peaceful. Roads too narrow for tour buses fortunately. Possibly not Crete’s best wine but the Dora White/Rise and 2016 Red (2 years in Oak) are great value.

    A peaceful find in Heraklion
Back in September when I was visiting Heraklion, I had the fortune to stumble upon this beautiful winery by checking out the signs in the area nearby. Built atop a hill, you can instantly gaze at the scenic view and the mountainsides, which are landmarks of Crete. After purchasing a tour of the facility, the hostess took me through the process of their wine and olive oil production - very knowledgeable and welcoming throughout! By the end, after the wine tasting session in this peaceful setting and after conversing with the lovely owners of the winery, I just had to purchase a few bottles of their wine to enjoy back home! Unpretentious and traditional... definitely recommended!

    Winery - Maria
Relatively small & Family ran business. Maria has showed us around, and served all the great wines with brief description of each one. Definitely value of money; local business needing suport especially throughout the season time. Surprisingly for such a small business they produce 20k bottles each year, biggest market being USA.

A memorable trip & a must do whilst in Crete!
Most beautiful family run winery which me and my partner visited whilst on holiday in Crete. The family were so friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely cheese platter which pared with the wines we were tasting, this was really lovely and well presented. The views were beautiful & everything was set up lovely for us. Would 100% recommend this winery if you’re visiting crete! Me and my partner visited a few wineries whilst in Crete and this was definitely our favourite! It had a very a personal touch and was great value for money!

    Lovely winery with gorgeous views
We stopped off for some wine tasting on a lovely hot afternoon. Mr Stilianou and his family were very friendly and welcoming. We had just had a big lunch so went for the 6 wine samples. All of the wine was lovely, and we bought 2 bottles of red to take home. We had our 2 year old daughter with us, and a winery isn’t the most interesting place for a toddler but she enjoyed herself as the hosts were so kind to her and gave her some corks to play with and she met the family dog. The views from the winery are absolutely stunning which is a bonus. I would love to come back someday and try the olive oil too. Highly recommended.

    Nice family run winery
A nice and small family run winery. Great service. They do 30 minute wine tours for 5 euro, tasting of 4 wines is 10 euros and 6 wines is 12 euros. Olive oil, bread sticks and olives are available for EUR 3. A very nice experience and the wines are delicious 😋

Giannis who is a fourth generation owner of the winery was so kind and informative. We came when it was raining and he spent so much time explaining the process of how they make each wine and the olive oil. It is a labor of love and the quality comes through in the flavors when you try them. One of my favorite memories from this wonderful trip to Crete. If you are in the area it is a MUST! Efcharisto Giannis!

We found this winery by accident following the directions from the palace of Knossos. There has an elderly gentleman story explaining the production of his family winery. We had a tasting at a cost of 7 euros (if I remember correctly) per person, his wines and his oil were very good. Although we were out of hours for company tours, he still gave us a short tour with explanation.
The owners were really kind and helpful, the products very good, the view from their company on the vineyards was very beautiful.

Winery Stilianou requires traveling some narrow streets and unimproved roads. You arrive at a scenic and charming place where you are welcomed by Giannis, the amiable owner. This is a different experience from larger wine tasting enterprises. It is completely unpretentious and defined by four generations of family wine making. Some 20,000 bottles are produced annually.

Our party of four was privileged to have the full attention of a private tour. We sampled four wines: white, rose, red, and a sweet red dessert wine (Kotsifali). The tasting format included sampling their olive oil, local cheeses, sun dried tomatoes, and olives. Enjoying these products was accentuated by Giannis’ description of how and when it all gets made. The visit was capped by a tour of the production facility.

We made sure to purchase some of the wines and olive oil to go with us to the next destination. If you come from afar, the practical problems of transport are solved by the export of Stilianou wines. For the U.S. audience, Eklektikon imports organic Greek wines that include Stilianou.

Went again yesterday and bought some wine for the Villa holiday. We enjoyed a bottle of the white wine sitting on the patio under the trees. The owner recognised us as we have been a few times before. He looks very well!
What a lovely couple own and run this small business. We didn’t do the wine and olive oil tour this time as we just popped in to get a supply for our holiday.
I cannot tell you how relaxing it is to sit in the shade with a bottle of wine and listen to the peace and quiet.
The owner’s wife offered us cheese and bread which we declined (as we had just eaten) but she brought us some anyway. Saying it wouldn’t be Greek hospitality if she didn’t give food to guests. She is lovely!
We watched a small group doing the tour and then they came to the table next to us. They obviously enjoyed the tour and then the tasters of wine.
My suggestion is to try the olive oil and wine tasting. It seems strange to us from the UK to be tasting alive oil but it’s so delicious and peppery. It’s not like supermarket sold stuff!
The wine is as good as any I have ever had. We drank a bottle (I just had a small glass as I’m driving but partner managed to finish off the rest!) we bought 6 bottle of white to take with us. It’s €12 a bottle but absolutely nothing like the junk we have from supermarkets. The wine is truly lovely. Grown in a wonderful place with love. Fermented and produced by hand with more love and drunk in a wonderfully peaceful place. I could sit there all afternoon.
You must have a car to get to the Winery. There are signs to it from the main road but it’s up a very long farm road in the middle of nowhere.
I’m talking myself into another visit whilst we are here.
