Overview
More
Koronekes is a family business. We make extra virgin olive oils, from Koroneiki cultivar olive trees, in our own traditional olive mill. Learn about organic biodynamic farming and olive oil production. What is an extra virgin olive oil? What is a first cold pressed versus cold extracted olive oil? What is Fleur d'Huile? Come and taste our olive oils in an idyllic scenery, amidst the olive groves. Please do contact us before visiting! Send us an email or call us and we will be happy to help you organise your visit. There is no public transportation to our olive mill. The closest bus station is the Palace of Knossos. From there you can take a taxi, it is less than 10 minutes away. Directions from Heraklion: Drive to the palace of Knossos. Continue on the main road after Knossos (towards Archanes) until very small village of Spilia. Before the Shell gaz station turn right and left immediately. You are now on the road that leads to the mill. Drive straight for about 2.5 km until you see our Koronekes banner. There turn left. In 500m you will see a blue gate, you have arrived!

If you like olive oil, then this is the place for you. We've visited olive oil groves and producers in Spain, Italy, and France, but we still learned something new here. We got to compare cold pressed oil to extracted oil (centrifugally done)... spoiler alert...More

The tour is meant to be by appointment only but we were happy when our host accommodated us with only 10 minutes of advanced warning. The farm is family owned and operated which provided a much more personal and enjoyable tour. It was really interesting...More

We enjoyed our tour of this small, family-owned olive mill that uses the traditional methods for pressing and separating olive oils instead of the centrifugation methods used by bigger suppliers. During our tour, we were also offered tastes of olive oils of different qualities, several...More

We arrived at this lovely Olive Mill rather by accident than on purpose during our day in the wine region south of Heraklion. It happened to be the best decision of the trip to make the left turn at the junction with their sign instead...More
