As an amateur photographer and wildlife enthusiast, I frequent Yala National Park. Yala would never fail you. From her famous Leopards, Elephants, and varied animal population, the other attraction is her bird population; some endemic and other migrant

We visited one afternoon and spent a good 3 hours on a safari drive. We had a fantastic time & managed to get quite close to lots of animals. The highlights were a Leopard, Elephants and a few crocodiles, however, I think we were lucky, as talking to a few other people, all they saw were a few deer &... More

We spent an afternoon at Yala Safari Park courtesy of a tour arranged by Ruchi Tours (Blue Water Waddawu) which was excellent value for money. The arranged a Safari Jeep with 6 seats and there were 4 of us plus Ruchis tour guide Nan who was very informative and acted as a great lookout to spot all the wildlife. Getting... More

The park is beautiful, but I think that what makes your experience is the tour that you book. We were so lucky we booked our trip at V Cabanas hotel( you should stay there) with visit Yala tour Mr. Shirantha is a great guy really honest he doesn't promise that you will see leopards like the other ones, he just... We went on a leopard safari unfortunately we saw no leopards, they lived up to their elusive nature after all! Worth noting we visited in October - the main park was closed due to the mating season significantly reducing chances to spot a leopard. We thoroughly enjoyed our two day/all day game drives - stunning scenery and good wildlife viewing... More

We saw all the expected animals and it was fine. We went back the next day bd saw less. Nothing new. One trip in is enough.

Visited end March 2017. Safari organised through Elephant Camp, Tissamaharama. Half day(morning) safari. Lucky to see a couple of leopards and close encounters with elephants.

We were fortunate to see a leopard just within 1/2 hours of the entry into the park. Then encountered Gamunu, a well known Tusker who is a native in Yala national park. During the two visits in two days, we saw herds of deer, Wild boar and Sambar deer.
