A very historic monument to the introduction of Catholicism in this part of the Phillipines by the Spanish. A beautiful example of a 17th Century Church structure, well laid out in a simple orderly manner. The building has a reverent theme and offers quiet contemplation.

The Province of Cagayan has several important religious landmarks. In Tuguegarao City, there is the Ermita de San Jacinto. To casual passersby, it just an ordinary if not obscured structure. But it is replete with history. The seed of Catholic faith can be traced here.
