Brilliant day skiing at this charming ski resort just 45 mins by bus from Niseko. Lovely, long, wide intermediate runs & plenty of off piste & trees for the more advanced & adventurous. Well worth the day trip from Niseko.

Rusutsu provides a free bus from the Sapporo station. You need to sign up ahead of time. We do not have kids but this is a super kid friendly resort. There were Reindeer, a carousels inside, and plenty of amazing runs. The runs were easy...More

This place was incredible. Wide tracks and steep tree skiing. Deep as you want with the world famous powder. Everything is very old but does the job. Incredible place not to be missed

This review is simple! The best powder in the world bar none. Both in quality and volume. Also no one here. Yep the lifts are a bit old but they do the job. Plenty of gondalas and covered quads. We had a week in Niseko...More

A huge range of ski terrain and we had exceptional snow. The chairs all run well and the two cafes provided good comfortable respite. End of our last day we were graced with some beautiful expansive views. Great snow, great Rees. Will certainly be returning.

A little tricky at first but soon everything falls into place. Well organized mountain and lift system. Good tree skiing for the most part. The lifts on Mt Isola closed one day for wind then the next day was quite good but very busy.

Negative - it is not true ski in, ski out. But that is where the negatives end. Positives - you can ski all day without skiing the same slope twice. Great lift system, Great variety of uncrowded slopes. I choose Rusutsu over Niseko.

Nice long runs with no crowds. Beautiful and peaceful. Easy to get from the east side back to the west side. Plenty of locations to eat at.

Don't really want to let the secret out but Rusutsu is the Best ski field we have ever been too. Champagne super light fluffy powder, no queues, fantastic lift system & wholesome reasonably priced cafe food (curry & rice, ramen noodles, fresh sushi, miso soup,...More

Having skied the Grand Niseko area and Rusutsu I can say that my firm favourite is Rusutsu! Same great pow, better tree runs, better lift system, and quieter! How Niseko has such a great international reputation whilst Rusutsu is much less talked about and superior...More
