Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As many have said, you can see this on the way upto the monkey park. It makes a good picture but I would not have made the effort to see it if it hadn't been on the way to the park.

It's on the way to snow monkey park so that it didn't really cost you much to drop by and have a look. In winter, it's enrobed in snow, which is quite interesting. Of course, if you've been to Yellowstone in the US or Rotorua in NZ, it's not really a big deal. I guess no one is walking the 1.6km trail to see the geyser anyway... But if you're coming to the monkey park, it really doesn't cost you anything to see this on the side.

Its on the way to the monkey park and looks cool enough but nothing to get horribly excited about. You will see it on the way up to the snow monkey park and if you are so inclined you could walk down the stairs and get a closer look.

Don't put this on your todo list. I think it's a steam blowoff valve from the ryokan next door, not a natural feature by any means.

very pretty area - a nice place for a few pictures. Buildings are neat to look at and no fee to see the immediate area

You can see this on your walk up or down the stairs from the Monkey Park. Quite interesting to watch and take a memorial photos of your time in the area. Can be viewed freely from above or you can walk down closer if you have such an interest. Can visit the restaurant near by but when we visited they had not prepared their special cakes yet, so we didn't stay.
