Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This makes a very nice day out or half day depending on your timing.
There is a large car park at the entrance along with a visitors centre and public rest rooms.
The walk is partly a track and partly a boardwalk through the swamp/ marshes. You can walk all the way to the lake or a short loop to the large pond.
You can see birdlife though its get a little busy on the weekends in season. THe cafe at the visitors centre serves up decent meals and occasionally they have some market stalls in the carpark.

Visit on October 5. It is about a 15-minute walk from the parking lot to Shinsennuma. It is very easy to walk to Shinsennuma because the wooden path is completely maintained, but be careful as the wooden path is broken here and there. Also, after the rain, the fallen leaves on the tree path are wet and slippery. Regarding the important autumn colors, I think we are just beginning. The leaves of grass are looking good, but the leaves of the trees have even started to turn yellow.

At the car park, there is a café cum souvenir shop where you can get a brochure with map of the marsh. Drinks, food and sweets are served.
Follow the board walk all the way up and then down to the marsh; no need to worry about getting your shoes wet as the boardwalk is all the way. Near the top, you can get glimpses of the surrounding area. Expect strong wind too. In late Sep, we could see the beautiful autumn colours appearing among the foliage and the waterways. We also experienced small hailstones. Enjoyed the experience.

The walk to Shinsennuma marsh is lovely and filled with greenery in summer. The path is covered throughout, and while there are spots where the planks have come loose or are starting to rot (they are wooden planks having to withstand four seaons of weather changes after all), it is generally in good quality. There are paths where nature makes the walk a bit of an obstacle course, when you have to squeeze through or duck in between branches, but I didn't mind it at all and enjoyed the experience. The view leading up to the actual marsh is beautiful too, and if I'd been there earlier and it hadn't started to drizzle down, I would have loved to just stay still there for awhile and soak in the atmosphere.
Note though the rest stop in the parking area seems closed for renovation at the moment. There was no access to the bathroom when we went.

Took 20 or 30 minutes to go to the lake- we also went to the marshes but the lake was peaceful and uncrowded. Go to Naganuma Lake- follow the signs.
Rest area has a great Iced Cappucino- serves other food and ice cream as well.

Finally decided to make a trip to this Shinsennuma Marsh. Checked the website, can not find any information about the public transport travelling to this place from the near by train station.Only found one travel magazine indicated as transport from Kutchan about 35 minutes. Wanted to check the staff stationed at the travel information counter but she was not around when I was there. In the end, I took a taxi from Kutchan and the fee was really expensive. The greenery or scenery just alright in my opinion, it is not worthwhile to travel all the way to see this Marsh, especially for a traveller like me who is not driving. Compared to the picture I saw from the Kyowa train station, it looks nicer in Autumn.

We visited in August with a 1.5y and a 4y. There are a couple of different hikes. There is an extensive wooden walkway that covers a good portion of the hikes. Some hikes are wheelchair/stroller accessible though it may be bumpy and a bit tight in some areas. If you are sun adverse, bring a hat bc some areas have little shade. English maps are available at the entrance and there is a box asking for a 100 JPY donation per person. We brought a hiking carrier for our infant but he was able to walk easily on the boardwalk for a lot of the time. We spent about 2 hours there exploring but you could easily spend more or less time there. The views are beautiful from the top and the marshes are picturesque. We especially enjoyed the clouds/mist sweeping through. We saw many families with young children, elderly and people with dogs (leashed) enjoying the day.

It was raining when we going up hill to this place . Did not expect such a excellent view at all. It's quite walk so if you bring old family or kids just make sure they wear a pair of comfortable shoe. The view is superb and you will not regret the tiring drove uphill and the walk! Effort will be paid off!
