The garden is beautifully designed and maintained. It was very refreshing to take a stroll along the tranquil pond and enjoy the new green of the spring.

The actual temple was alright in itself. Has some exhibits in its small museum. The temple grounds is worth a walk though.

A few minutes walk from Hiraizumi Station, this old temple (850 AD) and its adjacent gardens are a worthwhile place to visit. Beautiful architecture and woodwork and a lovely lake and small spring based river system.
