For the last 3 seasons I have been heading to Japan for snowboarding. Compared to Europe the snow in Japan is exactly what everyone tells you.....better. No layer of ice early in the morning and usually a layer of powder snow. I spent two of my trips at Hakuba One and the third at Niseko. I preferred Hakuba it was... More

I first learned to snowboard on our trip. This park had great tracks for me to learn on as well as more challenging slopes for my experience friends. We had a great time here and I recommend.

Where the locals go. Great snow. Not overcrowded with internationals. Love it for the local flavor with great snow

Slopes are quite shallow and mild so beginners would be right at home in Hakuba especially Happo-One with many wide open slopes with a very mild gradient. 47 had a decent park but was super icy when we went and we had to call it a day after a couple of hours. Iwatake much like Happo One with very gradual... More

We stopped 2 days at Hakuba to try skying and it was a good experience. It was relatively expensive but we could rent everything for a day, from the sky materials to the gloves. We took a private teacher and went to Goryu. It was crowded but it was a good place for beginners. There was not much to do... More

The restaurants and people in this town are really excellent. People were very helpful and friendly. The food was great and there were no shortage of options. Access to many ski resorts. A truly great place to holiday.

We stayed at the Alpine Azumi Apartments with 7 adults, 1 child and 2 babies, it was perfect! Lots of open fires and it was just beautiful with all the snow. About 50m from the Sakka chair lift. Great food, great skiing and great apartment. The local people were extra helpful to us, and we didn't struggle with the minimal... More

Took my daughter for her first White Christmas and Hakuba you did not disappoint, snowing just after arriving. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. Skiing on new fallen white powder is a dream, you just glide over the snow making it easy for beginners. There is plenty of places to stay and restaurants and cafes to choose from, would definately recommend... More

Wow Hakuba is quite big. You can't walk from mountains to mountains, as the area is too spread out. You have to rely on public transport which is quite difficult to get your head around. Saying that when you do find a bus, the drivers are very courteous and careful drivers up the mountains. This spot is great if you... More
