If the Blue Cave is worth visiting then it's because of how hilariously absurd of an experience it is. To be clear, the cave itself is actually quite nice, this is not the issue. The problem is that calling the cave 'overcrowded' would be an understatement. During peak periods, the cave is surrounded by an armada of charter boats and, at least when I went, the inside of the cave was essentially a mosh pit. A 3-dimensional mosh pit at that, because not only was the sea surface crowded, there was an entire additional layer of crowded beginner scuba divers below. It was quite a surreal experience - not one that I particularly regretted since I had swam there myself so hadn't paid anything, but if I had paid to be part of a group visiting the cave, I'd have been pretty annoyed. I can imagine that the cave could be quite pleasant if you went very early in the morning but it's unbearable during peak periods.

Avoid at all costs. OVERCROWDED to the point of being dangerous. You cannot possibly enjoy this site as all serenity has been removed by the OVERCROWDING. You will find people all around you including below you. You cannot possibly see this place for a natural experience as all nature has been destroyed at this location. Go elsewhere, trust me. God forbid you actually paid to go here.

Awesome place to come visit for snorkeling and or diving. Unseated is neat and you can really take in the beauty. There is also some cool tunnels to get into the cave. Watch out for all the tourists they have no situational awareness.

Where to begin?
First of all they make you wear a life vest the whole time, which is lame. Forget about diving below the surface. Although I would later learn that you're mostly wearing it - along with gloves - to protect yourself from the rock walls.
Also, the ordinarily conscientious Japanese seem to have thrown all restraint to the wind with this one. I've never seen such an over-crowded dive spot. If there had been half as many swimmers in there it still would have been too crowded. It was abslotely mobbed. Swimmers bobbing shoulder to shouder in an aquatic conga line circled the inside of the cave. Schools of novice divers swam below, too.
I saw a few terrified-looking fish huddled off in a corner, and that was about it.
Honestly, this cave would be super-cool if there were, oh, one-tenth the number of divers I shared the place with that day. I was offended both as a paying customer and as a marine life lover. They're trashing the environment of that cave. There's no regulation at all and tour operators are taking full advantage.
Total waste of time and money. It sucked.

We did a kayaking trip from Malibu beach all the way to the blue cave. That was great, amazing views, calm breeze and waters. We took a small break to one of the nearby cave before we started to snorkel in the blue cave. It was pretty dark and there are only some small fish in the cave. Nothing fantastic. You can literally go in and out within 10 mins. It can get super crowded and you will see divers diving underneath. Also if you are an experienced diver, forget about diving in that cave, it's shallow with nothing much to see, You will see much more school of fishes outside of the cave. You can see how the lights reflect to be blue at the entrance of the cave, that was pretty cool! Then we got to snorkel outside of the cave, which was great. We saw many school of fishes.
Would i pay 100 bucks to go there again? Probably not, however the reef outside of the cave is pretty cool. If i go again, i would probably not engage a tour? I saw people hiking from a cliff and jumping in the nearby shore. Going with a tour also means that you are forced to wear a lifejacket and a wetsuit even though you tell them you are an experienced swimmer.

Wow—this place is over-hyped.
Think of the under- (and on-) water equivalent of a bus tour and you get the picture of what a scuba visit to the blue cave is like. I was with another certified diver and a dive leader, who told us what to expect: dive leaders pulling scuba novices into the cave; please enter (swim in) on the right and exit on the left. Look up and you see swarms of snorkelers.
The corals and the tunnels were very pretty and nice; that made for an interesting dive.
When we surfaced there were probably 10 dive boats in the area (each holds about 10-15 divers / snorkelers) and we could see a queue of people coming down the stairs on the cliff about 100m away, preparing to snorkel in.
And our guide told us that this was a very un-crowded day!
Overall, interesting (I’ve never dived in a cave) and pretty, but be prepared to be jostled underwater.

The blue cave just because when you get out it's blue.. like any underwater cave. All the diving boats and snorkelers go there, there can be 50 people in that cave at any point. Most of them beginners or doing discover scuba so make sure you hang on to your mask and reg if you're diving, it's kicking left and right!
But really not worth all the fuss.

We visited the Blue Cave by snorkeling. Jumping off the boat at around 100 meters from the blue cave, we slowly swam toward the cave.
Outside the Blue Cave, it was packed with boats and tourists, mostly snorkeling, queuing to get into the cave. Inside the cave, it was full of people, crawling on the surface and shouting and trying to get to a better spot to take photos. Basically, there is no way you can enjoy the supposedly mesmerizing interior of the cave in such chaotic environment.
Also, local guides are distributing some kind of water-proof bread outside the cave to tourist for them to feed the coral fish. It is very undesirable to feed wild marine animals. Moreover, since there is a "feeding-frenzy" right outside the cave, the fish congregate and defecate, creating huge amount of excrement. It is highly unhygienic and reduces the visibility of the water.

I guess when you wear a lifejacket then you don’t need to be a swimmer.
However, I don’t know if a tour operator would accept non-swimmers in a cave, as there might be tight spots or other possible dangers.
I haven’t been to the cave yet, but this is just my personal point of view as a semi-experienced snorkeler.
Enjoy your snorkeling!!

Hi! We would Like to snorkel but is it necessary to book a tour? Do it by own is it easy? Thank you

Hello. It's possible by an individual to go to a blue cave, but it's dangerous. The moment I entered a sea, it's the water depth by which I'm not traced. So there are a lot of accidents. If possible, there is a shop where I'm drawing in customers by an English major, so I'll recommend to make a reservation.
