We visited tulip park on 22 May, very disappointed of the tulip was not full bloom, only 70% flowers bloom. 2016 tulip full bloom was fall on the week that I visited. We drive from Abashiri to tulip park then head to Asahikawa. But the cheap entrance fee 500¥ well worth if compare to others country like Australia +-AUD30.

There was a big outdoor car park, toilet next to the car park & a cafe next to tulip park. It was a bit rain in the morning, but the crowd start after the rain stop. But the park was huge therefore there was many opportunities to taking photo.

The foods in the cafe was quite delicious & reasonable price, they are friendly & service also good! There was a small corner with some toys for kids.

The Dutch windmill observation deck was the only nice background for photo shot, it will be perfect if the park come with some natural pond or river. We are not able to walk into the sidewalk between the flower due to the morning rain falls, the mud becomes so wet that it sticks to your sole if you walk over it.

Thanks for the vote if you found this helpful :D

It is only 15 min bus trip from Engaru bus terminal to the tulip park and is easy accessible. We visited the Park at the end of May 2017 which was approaching the end of 2017 tulip fair. Different colours of tulips were planted to make the landscape colourful and attractive. If the tulips were planted more intensely, the pictures might look better. The Park not only grows tulips but with other flowers to make the flower pattern irresistible. Admission fees are cheap and reasonable at YEN 500 per person. You can spend half a day to take pictures with colourful background.

We drove from Sapporo to Takinoue Park Shibazakura Festival and also the Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park. The drive was about 500km long and took us 7hrs both ways. The tulips at the tulip park were blooming but maybe we were expecting something more, it feels underwhelming.
However, we love the pink moss at the Takinoue park, the sweet talcum like fragrance greeted us when we stepped out of the car makes it a memorable trip.

Lots and lots of colourful tulips. Very beautiful place. We took the JR from sapporo to asahikawa as we did not want to drive for 4 hours and it was the right decision! Only drove 2 hours from asahikawa station to the tulip park and another hour to takinoue shibazakura park. Worth the visit for those who love flowers!

We took a guided land tour which took us here from Sapporo, the journey itself was close to 4.5 hours by coach and lunch was provided on the bus. The tour provider was kind enough to assign an English speaking tour assistant to give us directions throughout, however since most of the sightseeing was self-explanatory, there were no commentaries. There was, however, a really noisy and vivacious local guide who was telling jokes to the locals non-stop, on the bus, it became a little annoying so foreign travellers be warned, if you ever join this tulip tour. Nevertheless, getting a coach to the Tulip park is a better idea because self-drive would be too strenuous.

The tulip park is expansive, endless and scorching hot when we were there. We didnt last for long under the burning sun, and after taking a few lovely shots of tulips, we hid in the rest area. If flowers are not your thing, perhaps this place might not be top on the travel list. There is virtually nothing else to do nearby and the only reason we came here was to get a glimpse of Hokkaido flowers as no other flowers were in season.

We were there in early May which is about the start of the tulip blooming period. Although the tulips were not full bloom, it was still an enjoyable stroll with great weather.

It is worth a visit to the park if you are heading to the eastern part of Hokkaido.

A big park with tulips and windmill, which gives a different feel about Japan.

Yubetsu’s weather is still chilly in May, so you have to bring a jacket with you.

At 500¥ per person for an entry ticket, Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park should definitely be on your list of to-go-to places in Hokkaido!

There is a large parking lot and the staff were friendly. Many varieties of tulip were in full bloom and you can easily spend an hour or two here.

Pictures alone do not do this place justice. We went to Shikisai no Oka the day before and snapped better pictures. However, the tulips there was just 1/15 the number of tulips here. Come here and experience it for yourself, it is truly breathtaking (:

It may not be Holland, but the 1.2 Million Tulips are directly from the homeland.

We were there on June 3, 2013, and thanks to a longer than usual winter, the Tulips were mostly bright and alive (the park usually closes by that week).

The colours and variation were more than we have ever seen in any flower park.

The quaint place is worth a couple hours of walkabout, however as that particular day was rather cold for an early summer (5 degrees Celsius), so we were able to do just one hour... resorting to hiding inside the windmill when it got too cold.

I think we would have enjoyed ourselves a lot more if it were just a few degrees warmer...

The long drive from Sounkyo Gorge meant that we were on the road for more than 4 hours that day, so we wish that we could have spent a little more time in that beautiful place.
