飛鳥駅から２００ｍほどの場所にあります。石室が開口しているので、自由に中へ入ることができます。横穴式石室内部は精巧にカットされた巨大な花崗岩が使用され、古代の技術の高さに驚きました。古墳の頂上では一本桜が満開でした。

近鉄飛鳥駅からゆっくり歩いて数分です。説明書からですが７世紀の古墳なので聖徳太子や少し下りますが天智天皇や天武天皇時代に生きていた人物なのでしょうか。ここは自由に石室に入れるので内部の構造が見られますよ。

駅近の古墳。古墳の横に駅を作ってしまったんですね。さすが飛鳥といった感じ。至る所に古墳があります。待ち時間に立ち寄ってみてもいいかも。

近鉄飛鳥駅からも近かったです。
キレイに加工された石室で、奥まで入ることができます。もちろん無料！墳丘に上ると、眼下に近鉄電車が走っていました。
見学の価値大ですが、あまりにもキレイなため冒険気分が削がれます。でも、飛鳥へ行くなら一度は見ておきたい古墳だと思います。

まずこの古墳は、住宅地の中にあります。もちろん古墳が先でしょうが、これだけ駅に近いと、古墳がひっそりと佇むという環境は無理だったということでしょう。あと、古墳は丘のようにというのが、私の固定観念でしたが、墳丘のてっぺんに結構大きな木が育っていてびっくりでした。

近鉄飛鳥駅の裏手にしてあります。踏切をわたるとすぐ徒歩5分もあれば到着します。
石室のなかに入ることができます。墳丘には桜の木があり訪れた日は桜吹雪がとてもきれいでした。

飛鳥駅から徒歩５分、住宅の間にあります。意外と誰も訪れず。。
でも、石舞台のように石室がむき出し＆キトラ古墳や高松塚古墳のように入れない、という古墳が多い中で、古墳の墳丘・石室・羨道等々、墳丘の上にも上れるので古墳そのものの造りを知るにはとてもいい遺跡だと思います。
子供は石室の暗がりに少し怖がっていましたが、古墳ってこういうものなんだと理解を深めたようです。
古墳にもいろいろな形があったりして一概には言えませんが、概略だけを掴むのならばおススメかと思います。

飛鳥駅の岡寺駅側の踏切を渡り、少し登ったところにあります。
石室は開いてますので入ることができます。奥行きは、羨道と玄室合わせて
17ｍ、高さが3ｍくらいあり、巨大な石が二段重ねになっています。
一辺が45ｍある方墳ですが八角墳との説もあるそうです、国の史跡。
