Travelled from Shin -osaka on the rapid took about 1.5 hrs . Make sure you go to the information centre a short walk opposite side to station gives you a detailed map. The factory was free and self guided lots of sauces, miso etc to try we bought a few and also make sure you try the soy sauce ice cream it’s really yummy. Limited English but staff are very helpful and make attempts to translate where possible would definitely go again if in the area. Don’t forget to visit the historical area of old buildings too worth a couple of hours in the town…

Free tour available, or you can be on your own to explore. Once you enter the area, you can smell the fragrance of soy sauce. You can try out the taste of different kinds of soy sauce. There is a soy sauce ice cream as well.

What a lovely place that reveals the process of soy sauce making in a fun and aesthetic manner, catered for tourists as well. The tour is free, you guide yourself by reading the translations to all the various steps. Afterwards, you can taste Shoyu and Miso - even ice cream with soy sauce as a topping.…

Soya sauce and bean paste (miso) has been made in Yuasa for more than 700 years. At Yuasa Shoyu, there is an interesting free self-guided tour of the factory, that ends with the tasting of the different grades of soya sauce. In the retail area, there is also tasting of the various types of miso. We would never have believed that speciality miso paste can be so delicious - we bought several bottles of soya sauce and tubs of miso to bring home.…
