It's an OK place to see, once you are in Arita, I didn't think there was much of background information in the museum. The staff was really friendly and the entrance is for free.

We were very impressed by the range of old and new works presented here. Worthwhile to start the Arita visit here, and then explore the shops and town. Walking distance to the station anyway.

A well presented exhibition showing the history of porcelain in Japan. I must say that seeing museums in Jingdezhen and South Korea, the real homes of porcelain does make the history pale but it is still worth seeing.
