Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

So we arrived early in the morning after hearing that this place was known for turles. Around 10am while snorkeling just past the roping we saw some. Well we saw 5 in a matter of 5 minutes and more started showing up. There followed us around as we snorkeled. Warning the large white fish will stalk you while you gaze at the turtles. They will even start circling you and nip and you. Warning do not feed the fish here unless you want the large white fish to never leave your side. The turles were amazing and we had 6 hours of time enjoying them and getting pictures. The water has 100 feet of visibility. Its like bath water warm too. It was absolutely amazing.

This was the most beautiful and peaceful beach we have visited so far! Mostly all the tourists and family like the other beach Aharen just on the other side of this island and so this beach here is usually quiet and not so crowded. This beach was my husbands favorite because there were no restricting swimming boarders and there were wild turtles here! We were able to snorkel out as far as we wanted and enjoyed the many more colorful fish in the area. At the time we visited, the waters were perfectly calm and perfect temperature. It was perfect paradise for us, but with this comes a couple things to be warned of.
1.Jelly fish! They are small and don't do much damage, but they do give a pretty sharp sting. If you can, buy/bring a rash guard for your whole body before arriving on the island. (There are no major stores here to buy swimming gear. It's a very small island.)
2.no life guards....so swim at your own discretion

This beach is a nice little piece of paradise. The close corals are pretty damaged but further out is very nice and we meet turtles several times right of the beach

We stayed at a hotel at this beach making it very accessible. Snorkeling is much better farther out into the bay but nice size and colorful fish come near shore.

One of the other people at the beach saw two turtles. I did not today but plan to go out tomorrow morning before the tourists!

However, significantly less touristy compared to other main beach.

Smaller scale than Aharen, there is but a small shower and toilet shed a bit further from the beach. This beach is next to the Tokashiku marine village hotel, so you7re still in civilization. It is far less crowded than Aharen beach, but a bit out of the way yet most B&b can arrange to drive you there for 500 yen or so.
The beach itself is sandier than Aharen, so with less fish, but we saw plenty nevertheless. Driving to the beach there's a spectacular panorama overlooking the beach and bay.
For those snorkeling; Facing the sea from the beach, keep to the right hand side where the sea looks darker; there is a patch near the rocks where turtles come to graze. Keep still and you'll see at lot more fish pop up around.

Beautiful beach, perfect temperature water, nice snorkel and if you swim far back you will see an unbelievable blue water! They have some roofs with banchs and tables, perfect for relaxing. I loved a day trip in there!

We arrived at Tokashiku shortly after a large typhoon had hit Okinawa. There was a lot of debris and mess on a large portion of the beach that made it seem "dirty". We had heard and read that you can see sea turtles in the waters of Okinawa, and headed off on our mission. We rented snorkeling gear just off the beach and tucked our belongings into their lockers for safe-keeping. After at least an hour of snorkeling and spotting several fish and eel, colourful reefs, and one sea turtle, we were satisfied! The debris gathered on the beach didn't make it the best place to feel relaxed, but the snorkeling and turtle-spotting definitely made the visit to Tokashiku worthwhile!

This is a beautiful beach but you only have one option for renting equipment, using the bathroom, or staying overnight... and it is a very expensive option! I recommend visiting this beach if it is easy and on your way but I would not skip Aheran for it.

Unless you have a car or ride taxi, it is difficult to get to by walking because the bus doesn't stop here and the main road is high above and steep hill down from there.
