Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Pho is probably the most consistent and well priced dish although the beef may have been sourced recently from the cows nether regions of late due to its rubbery texture. The fried chicken use to be good but unless you like ultra dry sandpaper like flesh, you will find it a big letdown. Finally, the lady boss although having seen and served me for the past 12 months, has the personality of a lamp post and it's almost like she's doing you a huge favour by accepting my money. When she does smile (only to her friends), it's a very awkward sight for all to witness as you know she is a massive hater deep down

Cheap bistro food with an extensive Vietnamese cuisine and usual western menu (steak, chicken schnitzel etc). Pho seems to be a popular order amongst diners. Affordable pricing. Food taste okay.

got kicked out the casino for just waiting for my boyfriend to come out of the toilets. lady asked me to provide ID and i asked if she took the NSW app ID. she said yes, so I produced the ID, and instantly started yelling at me to get out and i wasnt allowed to be there. I turned 18 2 months ago, she couldn't do the math. on top of that didn't even let me talk and pushed me to the door. I feel disgusted that I even ordered foor there PRIOR. not worth the disgusting experience. cashier at the restaurant uninterested and rude.

I just found out the bistro has been overcharging me each time. This was $5 each time. Today, I asked a receipt to ensure i dont get ripped off again, the guy in the counter gave the card transacton printout l but withiut he list of order. Of course it was $5 over again. When i asked the bill was wrong not mentioning how much difference, he returned $5 without even cheching the bill. The food is nice but i am not going back to the guy who intentionally rip off customers.

Big bistro room with a pan-Asian menu that is quite cheap (amazingly cheap for a pub) and very popular with local Asians. No idea if the food's good though. Reasonable sports bar and streetside smoking terrace and very cheap drinks - they made a point of telling me I missed happy hour but Coopers was $6.50 normal price.

I was pleasantly surprised with the accommodation. For the price, I was expecting a dingy little dusty room however it actually lives up to the photos as advertised. Clean, modern and comfortable and on a cold rainy night it was cozy. I will stay again when visiting Hurstville.
Not so with the restaurant. If I ate here again I would definitely try the Asian fusion food. The lobster mornay was too tempting and apart from it being the worst I have ever eaten, it is also up there on overall worst food I have ever eaten. I would rather eat McDonalds. My husband ordered a rare steak and it was medium rare and not rested. Just slapped on the plate to bleed. I am not sure what they are trying to achieve with their salad on the plate but they needn't bother.
Bar service - appalling. I am not sure what it would be like on a busy night ....

Booked in advanced, when I arrived from the airport at 9pm ready to check in and go to bed. The staff informed me the room had simply 'not be cleaned' and they didn't have a room available. I was forced to try and find another hotel at 9pm on a Saturday night and ended up paying double. I asked if they would at least cover my taxi to get to a new hotel as I had already paid for a taxi from the airport to come here, to which they agreed saying to email the receipt, but they have not answered any of my multiple emails. Terrible experience.

I go here every time I come to Sydney. The service is always fast and the food always great. My late teenage kids love it here. They often come here by themselves and get a feed as it’s so affordable. The variety of food available is truely astounding.

Firstly, I'd like to start off this review by acknowledging that the food we ate wasn't particularly that bad. I had a Combination Chow Mien, my fiance had the Laksa and our friend had the Pho. Both weren't spectacular, but they were reasonably priced and we got a good feed.
We came to the Meridian with the intention of dining in the restaurant while watching the Mayweather vs McGregor event on a screen, which they were showing (mind you, the restaurant is spread out to the back part of the building which houses the sports bar screens, so you can order and sit practically anywhere and be served your meal). We arrived a little earlier to grab a table and spent about $50 in meals (with drinks included) and watched one of the screens while the other boxing matches got underway before the big fight. We spent some time on our meals - enjoying them and watching the fights as other people were doing, and didn't think much of it.
We were then approached by the Manager of the restaurant of Asian decent who demanded (not asked politely - demanded) that we up and leave if we weren't eating. At this point we were still nibbling on the leftovers of our meals and had drinks on the table, so we advised that we weren't in a hurry to leave. The area was also getting packed due to the Mayweather event, and we noticed that there were people on other tables who weren't even eating - just sitting and watching the screens.
Just to put the Manager at ease, we ordered a plate of Fried Rice ($9) and sat back down at the table. We had a number on the table to show that we had food coming, and after staring at us for a good five minutes he approached us again and grabbed the number. He demanded to know what we had ordered, and my fiance responded by saying that we'd ordered the $9 Fried rice not even ten minutes prior. We were already quite upset with the way we were being treated by this point, but the Manager stormed towards the kitchen and demanded to know what we'd ordered. The kitchen (for whatever reason) said we hadn't, and the Manager stormed back to advise that we were 'explicative' liars', and that we should leave. We produced a receipt to prove we'd ordered the dish, and he simply said 'okay', and walked off.
Not once did he ever apologise for accusing us of lying, treating us like absolute garbage and obsessing over us. We felt bullied, and harassed.
