I dont like leaving these kind of reviews but our first experience of Traquair house was utterly appalling We visited here with the kids for the "Halloween" special . we arrived to find next to no decorations anywhere! the activity tent was laughable with a colouring in table bare in mind all sorts was advertised . The guy doing the... More

I was very sorry to hear of your bad experience at Traquair and I am sorry I did not get to meet you and address your concerns on the day as I heard of your complaint. I would say firstly that it is a shame you didn't stay a little longer as I believe you arrived right at the start... More

I have been going here since childhood. I love it & never tire! Stunning atmospheric house with stunning Scottish history! The maze is fab! We ran around giggling like children & joked with people entering it that we'd been in there lost for days! The Staff are the most friendly professional & knowledgeable of any Stately Home Ive been to.... More

We went with a local group to visit Traquire House, the history of the House is extremely interesting and well worth a visit. It has a tea room which is very nice but I wish I had read the price list first as I paid £3.10 for a medium coffee and £3.00 for a scone both were okay but nothing... More

Spent a few hours with two children today and we had a great time. The children loved the grounds and exploring. The highlight being the maze (we actually did get lost..oops). We took a picnic to eat but treated ourselves to hot chocolate and milkshake in the cafe before we left. In the walled garden there were plenty fallen apples... More

One of our first stops of our long weekend trip and well worth it. We had a lovely walk through the gardens first before the house was open. Nice sunny morning through the peaceful gardens and woods before entering the maze. First visitors there so lots of time to enjoy the house grounds. The house is full of history and... More

We visited Traquair as 2 couples when my friends were visiting from Canada. Very reasonable admission costs. The house was very interesting, the best part however was the ale tasting! The cafe is great also. The only thing i would have liked was to see a few more craft shops, unfortunately when we visited a couple of them were closed.

A short but fascinating visit that was full of so much history and information. Amazing to think that it is still in the same family through so much turmoil. The brewery adds an interesting story also. Make sure to visit the tearoom as the food is very good and reasonable

Decided we would go visit Tranquair House as were staying in the area, what an interesting place to wander around, one of the oldest houses in Scotland with a load of history attached to it, the staff were very helpful, and some of the artefacts go back centuries, well worth doing, there are several other bits outside the house you... Had a lovely day visiting. Staff all very pleasant & ready to help & inform you. Visited the house & well worth stopping in & watching the DVD as lots of information. Toured the house & wings no rush as very quiet when we visited. Amazing number of exhibits to look at & read about all the way from the... More
