Our visit could not have been more enjoyable. We just visited the grounds, not the house, but there was plenty to see. We made it through the hedge maze. We had a great visit with George in the brewery. We walked down to the Bear...More

Visited for the Halloween family fun day. There was plenty to do, included in the price of the ticket, as well as entry into the house to learn about its’ history. My only issue was the prices of the drinks in the cafe. However, although...More

Attended a Halloween event on a Saturday night at the House. Very atmospheric with small oil burner lights providing light to the dark drive leading up to the House itself. Good show put on for us and very informative in the history surrounding the past...More

We enjoyed a lovely walk around the grounds and then played in the maze before going for a walk up to the Bear Gates. We didn’t go into the house as we had a dog with us but still had a very enjoyable day.

We travelled quite a distance to see this house, on the advice of our guidebook. It was well worth the time and trouble. It is advertised as the oldest continuously inhabited house in Scotland, and the present owners do actually live in the one wing....More

To make a statement like the headline of this piece you have to be very bold - but I'm prepared to defend that opinion as strongly as I can. It's the most delightful house with all kinds of hidey-holes and hidden stairways that make the...More
