We went there in May and it was simply gorgeous. Perfect sunny weather and beautiful nature. We were travelling along Hyeres and it was easy enough to find our way to the connecting ferry. We saw the island on Google map and decided to go for a day trip there, really really glad we did!

We are lucky enough to own a sailing boat and make the crossing from Bormes to Port Cros at least once a year. It is a wonderful island with forts, great views and a few small beaches. The small port has a few restaurants and a small shop. Once the tourist boats have left, the place becomes really peaceful and... More

If you have the ability and the time, stay on the island for at least a couple days. The island has a bunch of great hikes to do, and for the most part, you will see few people, except when you get to the beaches (and port). 2 different beaches to hike to--Plage du Sud (fairly easy, short hike) and... Simply stunning. A truly magical island that we enjoyed exploring for 2 days, we would have stayed longer but unfortunately too expensive! Would highly recommend.

I travelled here by boat with family and really enjoyed the pirate feel of this small port. We enjoyed walks around the park and a great lunch too. It must be lovely out of season when it's less busy too.

A beautiful island with fantastic hikes. A must do! go around the north island first day and then to the south. The whole island in one day woudl be a pity as there are many nice places to stop, swim, picnic or just realx looking at the sea.

I have travelled the world and always come back to my amazing Provence and French Riviera... There is no place else like the Islands of Hyeres (Golden Islands as they shine under the sun of the Mediterranean sea). Just go to either Porquerolles, Port Cros or le Levant. But avoid the peak season in July & August if you really... More

Took the 0930 boat from Le Lavandou to Port Cros island. Cost about €25/person based on 2 adults and 2 children. Some discounts are available if you have previously visited other National Park attractions on the mainland. 35 minutes of sea borne bliss, the Mistral had been blowing so there were some white horses. Arriving on the island is like... More

We spent three days on this island devoid of traffic and the other trappings of modern life. The mistral blew the whole time, but the sun shone. The coastal scenery Is spectacular, especially when the sea is rough. The inland walks, in the shade, would be lovely even in high summer, but you do need to be fit, as the... More
