This small lake is said to be haunted by a young soldier during the Napoleonic War, who crossed it to meet his beloved, but met his icy death in its bone-chilling waters instead.

Spent a few hours on Hickling broad boating, moored up for a great lunch. You can walk around the reserve and there is a lot to see.

An excellent day out wandering round the reserve - a super walk but the icing on the cake was the amazing 1hr boat trip. Matt our guide was so knowledgeable and interesting - he was brilliant! We live locally and will definitely return.
