Worth a visit
Apr 2021
Great wall walk and stunning views. Very friendly staff working hard to manage the site in line with Covid restrictions. A great way to spend an hour exploring the interior and exterior of the castle. Dog friendly and lots of space to explore.

Reading other reviews on here boils my blood we went Halloween and it was great.
Yes there is less to do did you honestly think everything would be open?
Knowledgable friendly staff, actors in character reading out stories to kids, reasonable priced coffee room and great views on the castle walk.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THE BEST OF THINGS WE REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR EFFORTS :-)

Don't go to Framlingham castle during covid. There is normally a lot here but there wasn't anything there when we went. And it was the Halloween festival. It was a rainy and miserable day so hopefully when I go in the spring maybe, it will be better.

Well sorted for COVID
Sep 2020
We visited in mid-September and had to book to ensure a place. Everything was well distanced for COVID, and the timed entry system worked well. Audio guides were available as there are no guided tours due to the pandemic. Spectacular views, on a nice day, from the castle ramparts.

Good day out
Oct 2020
Good day spent here. Wall walk very good. All staff complying with covid rules very well. Lots of sanitizer!
The two members of staff who organised the fancy dress contest and story activities did a very good job. Only issue is having to pay entrance fee and car parking.
Well worth a visit.

Interesting and welcoming.

Very well organised visit under the current circumstances. Everywhere was so clean and well looked after and special thanks must go to the young lady with the ponytail who was so busy, cleaning, disinfecting and litter picking. She was doing such sterling work. Thankfully the sun came out between the showers and we were able to have a coffee in the grounds. Very friendly staff and wonderful views from the castle walk.

Lovely way to spend a couple of hours
Sep 2020
My wife and I stayed for three nights in Norfolk and Suffolk in September 2020 and, on the way, stopped in Framlingham to visit Framlingham Castle - Ed Sheeran's 'Castle on the Hill'.
There was plenty of parking space so we found it easy to park our car. We were greeted by a very friendly lady who explained the things we could do and see. In line with Covid-19 restrictions, access to the ramparts, café and shop was strictly controlled with clear roped off areas for queuing for each one. We queued for the ramparts first and enjoyed our walk round these with their superb views of the surrounding countryside.
The weather was very good and we sat and ate sandwiches that we had brought with us, having queued to buy teas in the café. It was lovely just to relax at socially distanced tables and to look round at the castle building. We visited the shop, again via a queue, before leaving to go on our way to our first night's stop. A lovely way to spend a couple of hours on a lovely, summer's day!

Castle on The Hill
Sep 2020
We booked online and arrived at the castle where we were greeted with a friendly welcome .We were directed up on to the wall by a nice lady and as it was nice and sunny walked all round the wall. I am not keen on heights but felt very safe up there .We spent time studying the exhibitions and the outside walls .We then went for a walk aroundd the nice little town and visited the church .

We went to Framlingham over half term and loved Rosie and Alan’s shows. I forgot to pick up publicity! Was wondering if they do parties. Does anyone have their contact details / website?

On Google it states the opening hours are only Saturday and Sunday, however Trip Advisor states everyday 10am to 6pm. Can someone please clarify as my wife and I are coming to Suffolk next Thursday and would like to visit.
