Not much left to see inside but ramparts and grounds are great. Also the poorhouse is closed for refurb. Took about an hour using the audio guide. Good history. Great place to while away an hour. Very cold and blowy on the wall walk so may be great for visit in better weather. Enjoyed it though.

As a family we didn't have much to do one saturday in February, and as this castle had been imortalised in song we decided to pay a visit. It isn't cheap to enter as it's run by English Heritage, but at least parking was in the price. We were informed before we parted with any money that the main house... More

Half term so lots of children and seemed to be lots for them to do including a giant slide. There is a lot of steps so might be restricted if you have difficulty. I only did a little of the outside walk as it was muddy and slippery. Would be lovely in summer with a picnic. Good history. Big car... More

Visited when in Suffolk with family during half term. Second visit. Lots going on, 2 year old loved it, think it is a great castle with lots to see and history. Great views from the allure and you can have a nice walk around the outer walls.

The slide is definitely a good addition. Will be better with picnics in the summer time. We enjoyed the wall walk and it was good to see people of all ages having fun on the slide!

Had fun at the castle today with my wife and daughter. We also went down the slide that opened this week and despite the main building being closed managed to enjoy our visit. We also had a drink and biscuit from there kiosk, bonus.

Really nice way to while away the time at Framlingham. A part of local history, well run, loads of information on hand with excellent and friendly staff always on hand to advise. Must have a head for heights if one wishes to venture up to the upper part of the castle.

Must admit a certain song by a local young man inspired our visit! It's definitely worth a look if you're in the area, spent an hour wandering around the grounds, the wall walk has some beautiful views over Framlingham.

Great way to spend a few hours of an afternoon! Lovely and informative, and a beautiful setting. We'd love to come back in the summer for a picnic and a day trip around the grounds. Well worth a visit! *note, the main building and exhibition is closed at the moment, but you're still charged full price.

We have visited Framlingham Castle on a number of occasions, always finding something new to stimulate our interest in English History. At its best on a sunny day, the views from the battlements are outstanding and, once current improvements to the display material and cafe are completed, this will be even higher up our list of 'recommended days out in...
