Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have had several mangroves and this is just another one in a row, nothing special. As the way in the mangroves and back is the same about 200 metres, it is quite crowded as everyone wants to catch the high tide. Some small crabs on the way. In case you want to get the mangrove experience - this is an option. Snorkling near mangroves is much better experience.

We heard so much about the Mangrove Forest, that we just had to try it. After arriving, the river was on low tide, and of course the guys will do anything for a quick buck, so they insisted we get a kayak and go down this almost non-existent river. We tried it til we got stuck, got out, walked our kayak back to some water and made our way back to them. Told them we were only there for 10mins but paid for an hour. They weren't interested at that at all. It really isn't that great. But maybe during a higher tide it is? You can kayak around the whole thing so quickly. So plan something else for the rest of your day. It's far away from everything else too.

A peaceful boat ride amidst the natural habitat. Mangrove is one of the main activities here and the tour lasts for an hour through the mangroves and snorkelling spots. So peaceful and delightful!
Ami from Sunrise Fast Cruise Bali became our perfect host while we enjoyed the ride.

We were here quite early, around 9:30 a.m., and drove to Mangrove Point. No operator offered us a trip for less than 150k. After 30 minutes we were back at the jetty. The captain of our boat couldn't speak a word of English and couldn't answer our questions about the mangroves. There was rubbish or sunken boats lying between the mangroves. I wouldn't recommend it.

If you visit Nusa Lembongan, try to book a boat to go down this mangrove forest. They have a kayak too if you want to have a little adventure by your own.
In the forest, you can hear birds sounds and see fishes in the water if you're lucky.

We went at 4pm - was a great time of the day to go. Not one boat seen in the forest..felt like it was just us!
I had never seen magroves before therefore didn't know what to expect. Not too much too see. Didn't sight any wildlife. Nice for something to do to escape the heat however wouldn't go back.

Lovely little experience in Nusa Lembongan. We did a 3 hr taxi tour of the Island and our driver took us here. We were able to hire a little Sampan boat for the two of us for 30 minutes. It was a lovely little ride through the Mangroves. Really enjoyed it.

We stopped at this Warung owned & managed by Bobo and his lovely family. We mentioned we were interested in some snorkelling and had heard that it was good to swim with the Mantas. Bobo offered his boat. We went snorkelling off the mangroves for a few hours for about $5AUD per person for 3 of us. The snorkelling was great. Stacks of fish.
The next day, we arranged a trip to swim with the Mantas. WOW!. We saw 5 , swam within a metre of each whilst they performed backflips and generally had a good look at us.
Bobo was great and showed us several other snorkelling spots. 4 hours for $40 AUD.
Arrived back and had a meal at the Warung - lovely basic Indo food and so cheap.
Thoroughly recommend Bobo and his lovely wife & daughter to look after you.

My friend and I didn't think about checking the tide the day we wanted to go on the boat tour. When we got to the Mangrove, there was absolutely NO WATER! We were excited to do the boat tour and go snorkeling, but we decided to just get drunk at Nano Nano right on the water instead. Still beautiful views and fun to walk around the sand.

Being the 4th visit to Bali (from London) but 1st time in N. Lembongan I should have anticipated the mega rip off that is the Mangroves. Everyone gets ripped off abroad at least once per trip and this was our time I guess.
Thinking it would be some epic half day out session traversing the lush Mangroves and taking pictures of epic scenes and wildlife was very wrong. I’m not sure how many points in the Mangrove area there are to do a “tour” but we just stopped in the first one we came across. 400k for 2 people. Boom - Ok, this should be something epic.
We got on an unstable boat and an old woman got in the back and spent the next 20 minutes cackling like a witch whilst taking us around a few rubbish filled, swampy segments of the Mangroves before heading back. There’s rubbish everywhere - plastic, old motor oil bottles, you name it floating about. She took us into one little segment for about 10 minutes whilst making stupid noises trying to make us think we were stuck and then heading back up towards the what rubbish pile just outside the shack where she took our money originally. Those silly laughing noises and cackles were probably her laughing at us for being such idiots for handing over the money.
I would have rather given my money to a needy local on the island who is working themselves silly for almost no money but not this because taking 400,000 off us was a total rip off. I feel totally done even if it does help locals and as I said as a norm a lot of people get taken at least once when on holiday but this was just stupid. I should have known better after 4 Bali trips.
Give your money to someone in absolute poverty on the streets or emptying a bin on mainland Bali or something, just not this.
My mate picked up a piece of rubbish and put it in the boat - no doubt it would have just been thrown back out into water again as soon as we had gone.

What is the average cost of a 30min mangrove forest trip?
Written 4 October 2017
I don't know the cost for a trip with a boatman. However I rented a kayak that fits two people + 2 paddles so we can paddle by ourselves. It costs IDR 100K for an hour from the warung nearby, the warung's name is Blaxy (a random pick lol). It's at your right if you come from the downtown. The kayak is made from fiber and quite a new one.
The good thing I found out about this warung Blaxy is the starting point from their place is located in the middle section of the mangrove forest, so you can choose to go right or left. Ask for a simple map and the guy will explain it to you. The map is not difficult anyway, it's just so you know which channel you want to explore. Hope it helps!
