If you have visited the forts of Nizwa and Bahia drive on for another 15 mintes and you will arrive at the Jabrin Fort, which is the smallest of the three but the most interesting with holes for prisoners and a courtroom plus labelled rooms for everything else including a bathroom. My favourite of the three forts.

Nice place, can spend about 1.5 hours. Perfectly maintained. They also provide a audio guide. You can press the corresponding numbers to hear the details about each place.

Unfortunately, it was Friday, and I arrived too late to see the inside of the fort, but it looked very impressive externally, and has been well restored.

Really enjoyed our visit. We arrived at 8:30am and had the place pretty much to ourselves (probably because it technically opens at 9am - 9am-4pm daily except Fridays, 8-11am). Entry is 500 baisa, plus 1 rial for an audio guide (we didn't take one, but it looked extensive, and there's only a small amount of printed information as you go... More

On 17 January 2017, and while it was clearly written on the door the castle closed at 4pm, I could enter it at that precise hour and visit it slowly with the much instructive and lively audioguide. Heavily restored, the fort includes a set of really pretty rooms still adorned with pots, vases, cushions, most of them coming with somptuous... More

Jabrin fort was one among 3 we visited (Bahla and Nizwa). I think it is better to choose one and not to spend time to all three because there are look alike. I would say that Bahla was the most impressive. However, Jabrin is also well maintained if you are in to forts and castles.

This beautifully restored fort has so much to see. The audio guides are very well done and it does not matter in which order you follow the numbers, Don't miss the horse's private 1st floor room and the access to that room by the transformed staircase, The madrassah school at the top presents the best of views. The date chambers... More

Visited several forts on my trip through Oman (incl Nakhal, Bahla, Nizwa). Liked them all, but this one was by far the one that most impressed me, especially because of the interior design. The atmosphere inside the fort is amazing.

Decent fort in the middle of no-where. I preferred the Nizwa Fort with the museum like information to this one. All the rooms started looking exactly the same after the first 3 or 4.
