Loved the temple very much. We got to follow the tradition. Men need to wear dhoti and no shirt to be worn while entering the temple. Girls need to wear traditional dress only. No jeans. The staff are really dedicated. No one expects any money. Darshan is allowed in more than one rwo so that we need not wait in... More

One of the most important temples in South India. This temple is steeped in History and has some very interesting narratives behind its location, the idol etc. Please do look it up before you visit. This will explain why so many people flock to this temple with devotion and love.

Beautiful temple. But there's always a crowd. But if u take the express line you get to enter straight. The temple hasa cooling effect somehow. And the saree shops outside the temple sell their goods in a reasonable price.

The best timing for the visit according to my experience is on Thursday morning or evening. Stay at nearby hotels and makemyour accessibility easier. For solo travellers , noticed that hotels won't let you rooms so prefer staying in Thrissur town and pay visit by bus. Remember certain offerings to the temple has specific time schedules so check that out.... More
