Good day out

Very unexpected, so much to see and very well layer out as you don't know what's around the next corner. There is something for every one. Our 2 year old loved it

We were at a loose end last week and drove past after stopping at Axminster for a coffee. I was a bit dubious at first, especially as it wasn't cheap and I had seen no literature on the holiday park we were staying at. It was a delight to see so many animals, obviously being well looked after and there... More

I visited for the first time whilst staying with my daughter . I have to say the animals all look physically healthy. But my only criticism is that a some animals were showing obvious signs of lack of mental stimulation due to being confined. Like the lovely armadillo he was running around in a repetitive pattern. His bed was clean... More

Thank you for your review. i am glad that you enjoyed seeing some of our more unusual animals here at the park. However i do feel a bit disheartened that you wrote a personal opinion of how we look after our animals on a website that is to inform people on where to go for a day out. How many... More

With family in Lyme Regis, we have visited the Axe Valley Wildlife Park a number of times over the past couple of years with our children who are now 5 and 7. The first time we visited we were pleasantly surprised by number of different animals and birds. We have also taken part in a couple of the animal encounters... More

The wildlife park is very child friendly and my granddaughter really liked being close to all of the animals. There is a good description next to each exhibit and a simple quiz is generally provided for children, with a prize at the end.

Please ignore any poor reviews for this wonderful animal experience that your children will adore. They have the best animal encounter staff I've ever come across (and we live near Longleat and do their animal encounters a lot). The lady that runs the education programme and does the ferret racing and bug show is genius - funny, highly knowledgeable and... More

Visited here with my two small children although it was raining they absolutely loved seeing all the different animals. Also the play areas were a great attraction. We went expecting somewhere tiny but were pleasantly surprised to find a lot more animals than imagined.

An absolutely lovely zoo. Weren't present for any set talks but any questions I had the zoo keepers were happy to answer. Loved the way some birds walked around the grounds freely. Good variety of 'small' animals. We spent (family of four) 2.5 hours there. The kids relished in taking photos of the animals and birds. We all fell in... More

Went there with my partner and 14 month son. Upon walking to the first section being the swans, the water is black! So dirty, the bridge and fencing around all the park are so bodged together it's not even safe. (Do you employ a qualified carpenter?? Clearly not) I was so shocked at the amount of WEEDS, THISTLES, STINGING NETTLES... More

We visited as a family of 4, excellent value for money, lots of different animals and birds to see as well as some farm animals. Nice undercover area as well as plenty of places to picnic and eat at the park, my boys also enjoyed guinea pig fishing, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, will definitely visit again.
