Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The museum, located in a functioning museum on the outskirts of the city, is a taxi or bus ride from the city center, but don't let that discourage you. For one thing, the admission is free (which will counteract the taxi fare). For another, the museum is very professional, spacious and well-appointed: the creator clearly spent a lot of money to build and maintain it. The exhibits are fascinating—you won't believe how many things can be made of paper pulp! The highlight is making your own sheet of paper in just a few minutes, which delighted all of us and is a treasured souvenir of our trip to Korea. Make sure you visit the gift shop, which is very reasonably priced and offers wonderful fans, clothing, jewelry with paper "stones," etc. We got a large number of our gifts for family and friends in this shop, despite our visits to numerous stores in Seoul, Daegu, etc., over the course of our trip. The staff is very helpful and will watch your bags, call a taxi when you're finished, and answer questions in limited but sufficient English.

Free, well-curated, family-friendly museum about paper--its history, varieties, process, and products. It's a small museum (I'd give 1 hour to 1 hour and half), but very informative museum that offers all you need to know about paper. I really enjoyed paper history presentation there from pre-historic period until today. The comparison among different kinds of paper in China, Japan, and Korea, as well as among varieties of paper produced in Korea was very interesting. The hands-on experience at the end, where you end up with your own sheet of paper, was magical! As many people mentioned earlier, its gift shop offers a wide variety of quality products priced reasonably. I also end up doing most of my gift-shopping here, without sacrificing my wallet too much. Highly recommended!

This museum is an odd thing. It is at the site of a modern factory that makes a traditional sort of paper.
By car or taxi (don't know about buses), you start at the entrance gate where friendly staff point out where to go.
Two stories of exhibit tell the story of paper in general and of hanji in particular.
At the end of the tour, you can have a go at making a sheet for yourself.
The gift shop, with lots of paper based products, isn't pricey. And the museum... free.
Great fun for an hour and something out of the ordinary.

This museum is located inside the Jeonju Paper Mills. A paper factory actually. It was located about 20-30 min by taxi. Since we departed from our guesthouse, we took taxi to the museum. Advisable for you to write down the full address and the phone number and showed it to the taxi driver. Don't assume they know where this place is, more often than not, they don't. Once you have arrived here, you need to register your name at the main gate. Once registered, proceed to the building not far from the main gate. You will be greeted by the friendly staff. They will show you the exhibition halls and you may proceed with your tour from there. You will end your tour by making hanji yourself and keep it as souvenir. It took me about 1 hour plus to complete the tour.

After spending enough time around the Hanok Village, we decided to do something different, so we followed TripAdvisor's advice and went to the Jeonju hanji museum. The museum is built within I believe the actual paper mill. Although not very big, it gives you a nice introduction of the history of hanji (Korean paper). It is a hands-on museum so you get to make your own paper at the end of your visit. Admission was free and we were almost the only ones there, so we strolled around very slowly to enjoy the exhibit, AC and took the opportunity to rest. From this museum, I learned to appreciate the uniqueness of hanji and developed a liking to it. I bought some hanji home for my Windows. To get there, you can take a taxi but we opted for the bus. Bus no 88 will take you to a nearby main road and then you will talk for about 10 mins. I recommend this museum to those who want to know about this unintangible culture heritage of Korea - the art of paper making.

Originally christened the Hansol Paper Museum in 1997, it was changed to the Pan-Asia Paper Museum in 2001. Again, in 2005, it was changed once more and is today called the Jeonju Hanji Museum. It’s located in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do. As Korea’s first museum specializing in paper it has an extensive collection of 3,000 artifacts and a data-base documenting the long history and superiority of Hanji (Korean paper). The museum also hosts two special exhibitions every year with diverse paper-related themes.

Museum is located within the headquarters of a large paper company. In addition to exhibits on the paper-making process, they have a live demonstration where you dip a screen into a slurry of bark fibers and end up with your own sheet of paper. Some kids might enjoy doing that. We arrived about an hour before closing and felt that we had plenty of time to see the exhibits and even check out the nice gift shop with paper products.
