Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a fabulous way to experience the Forest of Dean in the Wye Valley! The bikes were very well maintained and in great condition. We chose the leisure bikes for the 9 mile Colliers Trail (previously named Family Cycle Trail) and took off on our adventure! We aren't bikers generally and the first section of the trail was a little tough going, with a slight incline for about 3-4 miles - but from there onwards it had some steep downhill sections, some flat parts and definitely fun parts. We were all very glad to come to the end of the trail but also loved it! As I explained to my teenage children, the good without the bad - or fun without the tough bits.

Really poor customer service from the bunch of teenagers and the older woman who in the brief interaction with us also wouldn’t have a clue what good customer service looked like. Ordered a breakfast and asked for fried eggs flipped. Was given scrambled and when I said I wanted them fried I was told bluntly that it takes 5 minutes for the grill to heat up. I said no problem and just pop them over when done. They came and plonked on the table and the rude young guy disappeared very quickly. Not surprised - they were vile. Shame really as I’ve had previous good experience here but this was shocking!

Really sorry to hear this. Jason and his team pride themselves on the quality of the food. We do employ lots of local teenagers, especially over the summer holiday period and provide them with comprehensive customer service training. Very surprised to hear that they served it with scrambled eggs as we don't offer this as a menu option - but please message Matt direct at cafe@pedalabikeaway.co.uk and he will arrange for you to come back in for breakfast on the house.

Great value and a great way to spend the day. We hired bikes for £23 including the helmets. We did the family route which takes about an hour (we did it both ways), easier the proper way round and easily manageable for most people. Beautiful scenery and great paths. Hire staff were helpful and friendly. Easy to follow signs for the different routes. Cafe, toilets and bike shop at the start.

Friendly helpful staff, great facilities and beautiful trails. As a beginner to mountain biking I was a little nervous but the staff put me at ease with some helpful advice. I really enjoyed the whole experience, and the blue trail was beautiful. Facilities are great and we enjoyed a quick bite at pedal a bite away in between bike rides. Highly recommend.

Only used the café. We had two cakes (a raspberry brownie and a lemon drizzle), which were both excellent. The “Americano” tasted just like instant coffee. Was it? I would eat there again, but would have tea next time.

All our coffee is freshly made from a Fraccino coffee machine, and we use local roasting coffee company, James Gourmet Coffee (From Ross on Wye) for the beans. We don't believe in bean to cup or instant coffee. Drop us a message at cafe@pedalabikeaway.co.uk and we will make you one on the house on your next visit.

We own bikes and came up for the weekend caravanning but didn’t bring them with us. So we thought we would hire bikes at the last minute to see how it would be for our own next time round.

We found this site online and you were able to book right up to midnight for the next day which was a bonus straight away.

There was a good choice of bikes bit because it was late (7:00 pm the night before) a standard Mountain bike in my size was not available. However I went for a gravel bike having owned one before so knew what to expect. My wife had no problem ordering hers.

The price was great and no big deposit up front.

We turned up (Has to be after 9:30) and presented ID as this is needed plus your car reg. The paperwork (Electronic) was sorted out quickly and the bikes bought out. We had our own helmets but these too are available.

The day went great and upon return we also used their cafe there (There are a few to choose from)

So on the whole if you want a feel for biking round the Forest of Dean then this place is ideal! They even hire out kids buggies to attach to the bikes.

We hired 4 bikes and went on the family route. It took us two hours with plenty of stops to explore. It is well signposted throughout. The scenery was lovely and the bikes were fantastic. The ice cream stop towards the end was well needed due to the temperature being 35. All in all a lovely Experience.

Friendly staff. Did the blue route which was plenty tough enough for my wife and I, then went round the family trail to the lake. The mtb trail was brilliant, exhilarating and challenging but the bikes were up to it, they seemed bomb proof and could take my 16 stone on the bumpy undulating trail, brilliant gears as well. Has never done any off road cycling before this and it was a great introduction, a bit of fitness is required though.
