Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As we gain more information about nature and its beautiful animals, it amazes me that we still have zoos like this one. The animals were in small cages and it was very evident that many of them created a well worn path around the perimeter of their enclosure from constant pacing. Although the animals seemed to be well cared for, I felt as though I was observing animals in a small prison cell rather than a home for rescued animals.

I have been to a fair number of zoos and some of them very well know, but this place was the best zoo I have ever been to and I don’t think I would ever find anything better. The entrance fee is unbelievably cheap for a zoo that let you interact with baby animals. Few years ago, I had to pay 90$ per adult, and 45$ per child to be able to spend an hour with three animals of our choice and after paying this much we were rushed and couldn’t spend the time that we were promised . At this place, every body who visits has access to the nursery and there is no time limit. It was so much fun. We got to pet a very playful baby tiger, and watch him while he was fed. So cute! We got to hold a baby kangaroo and a baby raccoon. We got to pet a very young white baby tiger that one of the staff was holding and it was just like a real baby in need of care and attention. People working there were very friendly and dedicated. You could see how much they cared about the animals. The fun didn’t end after we headed out of the nursery. Other animals were very energetic and playful; notably wolves and white lions. You can buy a bag of food when you buy your tickets and it would be so much fun to feed the animals. We fed the deers and then goats and lamas; so much fun; you gotta try it for yourself.

Friendly little zoo. We loved seeing all the big cats and feeding the animals. The highlight of our visit was a couple of very cute bears splashing and playing in a pool. Well worth the cost!

Yes, it's surely not as big as some of the zoos out there. But if you like proximity, you will love it. If you go there NOW, you will be able to pet a tiger. And take a baby kangaroo in your arms. Try that to most of the zoos....good luck. There is also a lemur that my daughter fell in love with and they couldn't let go of each other. It was just awesome. Then, you take a walk in a nice environment to see and feed some of the animals. Frankly, I think it's a perfect zoo for kids. And for somebody like me, an adult, who just loves tigers and could have never touched one...it was fine too....lol. It's a must see. And a must do!

The zoo is great and the enclosures are quite large... much larger than any other zoos we’ve been before. I love the way the zoo was created... essentially giving a second life to animals that would otherwise have been “retired”. The nursery was most definitely the highlight of the visit.
The people at the zoo are highly passionate and loving towards the animals. It shows through how everything is maintained and how the animals behave.

Great place for the family!

Wow!

Not the largest zoo in the world, that's for sure, but a very interesting and original one.

They give refuge to no longer desired animals from all around the world. For example an Hollywood Tiger no longer required by the studios. They bought it for the price of its... skin / fur.

You'll also enjoy and touch to baby cougars and many others.

Fantastic place to bring kids since touching animals is always an event to kids...

Plan at least 2 hours to make the complete tour. Commented tours available.

Enjoy!

I was the only one who hadn't been here before (all the rest of the family had visited) and I have a bit of a "thing" about zoos in general. I don't like seeing animals in cages, you see: I'd rather see them outdoors in their natural habitat, even if that means I see far fewer animals and that it takes much longer. That said, this zoo is a great place for the family to experience many different animals in a pretty darn good natural setting. There are several exotic species here and I must say that all the animals seemed well kept and fed. It was a very warm day when we visited so many of them were sleeping in the shade (smart animals!) but we had an excellent time. My Grandson was able to pet a baby deer and an arctic wolf. He was over the moon. Recommended for all.

Refered by locals of Lac Saint-Jean as an over and above another zoo in the region, this very friendly place is a must see! Well worth the drive. We were but a few feet away from Tigers, Bears, Mooses and many other animals. Managed by local entrepreneurs who started this zoo as a rescue center for animals, their business story is amazing! Talk to them and they will be so happy to tell their amazing story of love for animals and hard work! Incredible zoo with a surprising amount and diversity of animals. Go for it
