We were very rushed through this tour which barely lasted 30 minutes. The owner clearly had larger busloads of people to take care of after us. You will recognize the villa as soon as you see it. We were expecting a guide, but there was none. The owner is living off the fame of this house, he grabbed the €50 out of my hand and was gone like a shot. Not worth it for us.

This castle is over 250 years old with very interesting Siciliy Baroque architecture . It also featured prominiently in the Godfather movies because some very important scenes are shot here . This castle was where Michael lived while in exile , where his new wife Apollonia was murdered , and where Michael died alone in the courtyard at the end of Godfather III . The present owner is Baron Platania and this castle has been in the family for as long as it has been built. We went there in May and our travel agent arranged for a guided visit . Baron Platania is a very nice and elegant elderly gentleman who took us to all corners in the compound featured in the movies . We have a lot of fun posing for pictures . We even have a chair put in the exact place where Michael died and one of us posed as Michael . Of course, if you you need to be authentic , you need a walking stick , a dog and an orange as props . Don't miss it when you are in the area .

A fantastic setting for a gala dinner. My husband and I were attending a conference and this was were we went for our gala dinner. After being shown a selection of film clips from the Godfather in the grounds the screen went up and you see the house all lit up with armed guards just like in the movie. A great experience and one we will talk about for a long time. The food was excellent freshly cooked pizza created in the grounds to your liking.

This was excellent. You need to have your hotel conciege make a reservation. The current owner takes you around the villa. You immediately recognize the place from all three Godfather movies. It is the home of Don Toamassio.

Our visit in Castello degli Schiavi in September was marvellous. Owner, Baron Platania was very polite and told us a lot of interesting stories about history of his family and the villa itself. As Godfather fans this was the most exciting part of our 10 days holiday in Italy & Sicily.
We would like to thank Agency Sicily Grand Tour in Aci Castello very much for their kind assistance to made this 1h tour happen! Success!

The villa is so beautiful, and we had the pleasure of being escorted through it by the owner. There is so much memorabilia there, and we took lots of photos things like the spot where Apollonia was murdered (GFI), where Fabrizio ran off when he knew Apollonia was in the car and not Michael (GFI), and where Michael dies in the green chair (GFIII). All in all fabulous!

By chance we managed to find this place and were given a private tour by the owner. It fulfilled all our expectations and more. He was very charming and very passionate about the building that has been in his family for generations. He took the time to explain everything in detail and took plenty of photos of us in various locations relating to the Godfather films. We couldn't have asked for more.

We visited the Castello in May 2018, almost at the end of our tour to Sicily.
When we flew from Toronto, we had in mind the possibility of visiting some of the places were the Godfather was filmed.
We never imagined having the chance to tour the very same location where Tony and his first wife lived and were she died in the explosion.
Our driver offered making an appointment for us, we both paid a fee and were greeted by the owner, Baron Platania.
He kindly showed us all the parts were the movie was shot and, additionally, showed us the cellar and the chapel.
He also invited us into his home and showed walked us through all the memorabilia.
If you’re a fan of The Godfather, this is the place to go!

We hired a private Godfather tour with Sicily Shore Tours and Ricardo, our driver was excellent, with great knowledge of the area and easy to converse with. We'd planned to visit the Bar Vitelli and the churches in the various Godfather movies but paid extra to visit Castello Degli Chiavi, the scene of Don Tomassino's home and where Apollonia is killed.
The owner, Franco, was a lovely gentleman who showed us around the grounds which was fascinating in itself, with the chapel, basement and outhouses. He invited us into his home where he took us to the famous balcony. Inside is even more beautiful than I imagined, and he showed us some of his own photos of when the movies were shot there, which was a real treat. The trip was due to last an hour and a half but his enthusiasm turned it into over two hours, which passed very quickly! All in all, a memorable experience and one which will never be forgotten.

This is one of those places where, long after you have left, you keep coming back in your mind. For it is full of charm and beauty, it has been owned by the same family since it was built in the 17th century, and the present baron Franco Platania gives a wonderful tour through the grounds. Then there is the added fun that this is the place where a number of scenes from The Godfather trilogy were shot, a large number of framed pictures of which lie about.
