Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This experience was the highlight of our two week stay in Scotland. Excellent communication prior to the booking and a fun, informative and hands on experience. Our falconer, Torquil was very friendly and fun to spend three hours with while he taught us all about the raising, training and flying several different birds. We got to fly two owls, a Harris Hawk and a North American Bald Eagle and also got to watch him fly a Petegrine Falcon. We highly recommend this experience- we will never forget it!

I am very disappointed by the customer service/the handling of cancellations at the Phoenix Falconry. We booked a family ticket for GBP 400.- in January already - the date for the ticket was August 10. I asked in the booking what the cancellation policy was. I never received an answer. On July 2 I asked again but did not get an answer either. On July 10 (one month ahead of the booking!) we had to cancel our entire Scotland trip due to personal reasons. I informed the Falconry and asked for a refund. Again nothing. I wrote 2-3 emails asking again and also pointing out that all the hotels refunded us - but was again ignored.
August 10 is high season and I am sure they resold our spots as all the hotels did with our rooms. The hotels were however willing to refund us…. The Falconry just kept ignoring us. GBP is a lot of money for a family and in my view the behaviour just shows poor ethics. My recommendation: Don’t book ahead or even better find another place to watch the Falcons. I wonder what Andy Murray would say….

What could be more patriotic , for an American, than to hold a bald eagle on July 4th? We were lucky enough to enjoy this unforgettable, amazing, bucket list experience on our holiday. Torquinne and Adrianne were a wealth of knowledge and so patient with us as we worked with these amazing, majestic birds. I can’t recommend this special experience enough, you’re going to LOVE it!!!!

This was an absolutely amazing experience as well as educational. Torquin was entirely engaging the whole way through. A vast range of knowledge and an amazing falconry skill set made this experience immemorial.

Thank you for an amazing morning. I would highly recommend.

Kane is quite the charismatic character!

Booked a Phoenix Experience and what an experience it was. Although I was only in as a 'spectator' I probably enjoyed it as much as my wife - who had the full package. Interesting story telling instead of drumming up dry facts. Bald Eagle was the star of show (at least for us 😉). Definitely can recommend.

Spent a half day doing the phoenix experience. What an amazing way to spend the morning. Very informative & interesting. Learnt about falconry & its history then got to fly a selection of birds.

Would certainly do this again.

My wife bought me a Falconry experience for my birthday. Truly fascinating, everything from the history of falconry to how they are raised and trained, as well as experiencing these magnificent creatures flying to your gauntlet. Yes, it was cold, yes it was a bit wet (it was Scotland in October!) but that did not detract in any way from a very memorable experience. Thoroughly recommend it.

We booked the phoenix experience and we had the most fun! Adrian is a true expert on falconry and was very knowledgable. The combination of hands-on bird handling and education was very enjoyable. Adrian is entertaining but also very relaxed which makes you very comfortable around the birds. Highly recommended!!

Just returned from this half day experience with Adrian and his beautiful birds. What a fantastic, interesting and exciting day at Cromlix House near Dunblane. We learned lots about the art of falconry and in particular how the birds are raised and trained. We all got to handle a Harris Hawk, Eagle Owl, Barn Owl, Bald Eagle and the best of all a Peregrine Falcon. A great experience for couples or families young and old and all done with humour.
Do yourself a favour and check these guys out you’ll have a great time.
