Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The vivid mango colour of the building is so outstanding, the gentleman who tour us around the winery is professional, the place is clean and the floor is dry. While we are tasting the wines, the owner passed by, he is very friendly. We visited 3 wine yards and this is our most favorite.

We decided to go on a private winery tour on our last day of our trip. Our driver suggested this beautiful Chateau and we were so happy he did. Not only a beautiful location, but the wines were outstanding. You can't miss the building. They painted it yellow so it would standout.
Three generations live on the property and we were lucky enough to meet the father Michel and his son Basile. He brought out a 2000 for us to try. What a treat.
Basile took us out to the vineyard and explained what happens after harvest and was just a delight. This was a great way to end our trip.

We were three adults and visited this winery on a public holiday. It was very quiet in the Medoc region with few tourists around or wineries open for tours. Luckily we had booked a tour beforehand. The tour cost was €12 per person, it lasted a little over an hour and at the end we got to taste two wines. All up, it was an excellent experience. Our guide was fluent in English and was very engaging, talking about the history of the district, the vineyard and winery itself, the varieties of grapes they grow etc etc. He was right across the subject matter and threw in lots of fascinating facts into his patter. For instance, we had no idea that the grape roots in this area of gravelly soils went down 10 metres to reach the nutrient-rich clays in the subsoil. Another fact to file away!

Called before visit for tasting. They were open, just come and visit. When we arrived they told us there was only one person available at the moment, we had to wait 30 minutes. We waited outside. After 45 minutes we asked again via doorbel and they appologized it would take another 10 minutes.
Meanwhile for the 3th time other people from the chateau passed or said goodbye to visitors. No intention to welcome us, quite hautain behavior.
10 minutes got 25 and then the door opened. The single person on service was busy. After another 10 minutes of polite waiting i asked her about the tasting. She told she might have 5-10 minutes in 10/15 minutes before the next tour.
I told her we waited far over an hour and told her this was very disappointing. Her reaction was she couldn’t help it, without giving us the impression she cared at all....
When we left we asked for the manager to express our feeling about this, she also didn’t seem to care. As arrogant as it can get...
Don’t waste your time here, there are many very friendly alternatives in the area!

Dear Mr. Franck 0,
Lafon-Rochet is a family estate, each of the person working there is known to be friendly in the area, you just need to ask. No one remembers a phone call from you, and the visits are on appointment only. There is a reason for that, it is not our main activity, we are winemakers before all, and it is our great pleasure to show to anyone who wishes, our lives and dedication for the wine we are making.
We would be pleased to welcome you again, but please make an appointment before.

We visited with two adults and two children using a pre-booked slot from Pauillac's maison du vin and tourist office. Without pre-booking it would be difficult to tour the facilities. The tour took about an hour and finished with wine tasting, of two of their main brands of wine. The tour is a paid one (some 10 euros per adult). You can buy bottles from their stock but there is no pressure. Our boys thought it was so-so, but that is not unusual for teenagers.

Just love the beautiful, Rich, vibrant color of the Château the marks the distinct branding of the label. The property is Beautiful. The insides have been modernized. The wines are delicious. And the family is passionate about making great wines. This is a Grand Cru château producing wines that you will really love.
