Starting at Villefranche took the train used open carriage to Font Romeu through spectacular gorges, through tunnels and over old and new bridges to highest railway station in France before returning to Villefranche via coach. One of the great railway journeys with views of mountains...More

As an enthusiast of railways I reserved my ticket online and travelled from the UK to ride on the line. Double checked the website the previous day. Turned up at station this morning to find train replaced by bus. What a disappointment!

This is a a trip for fun, wonderful views and spotting wildlife! We travelled using public transport from Barcelona to Andorra, on to l'Hospitalet-pres-Andorre and by train to Latour de Carol to pick up the little yellow train. Getting out of Andorra was hard but...More

We had read about this attraction and weren't disappointed. To say it's quirky is a little understated; it winds it's way slowly uphill from Villefranche passing all the villages in the valley with stunning views and across bridges and viaducts up to Mont Louis and...More

We went by a return trip to Mont Louis. The trip in the open wagon was really nice as you have any freedom to look around and enjoy nature. Once arrived, we discovered that the train back was after 4 and half hours, which is...More

Yes it's an adventure to get to Villefranche de Conflent but it is a lovelely walled town to start the rail journey of a lifetime. Rising from 607 metres to over 1500 metres in the beautiful french Pyrenees carried the added bonus of seeing some...More

The train has vestibules at the end of each carriage. You can store luggage, bicycles, etc. there. I suggest that you contact SNCF online to get the full story re booking.
