Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Mei family mansion is a bit old and dilapidated, but it still has its grandeur.
Taishan Commercial City is very lively at night, with all kinds of vendors and delicious food, very popular!
Wandering around various small villages, you can feel the local honest folk customs, peaceful and pleasant scenery, and feel like a spring breeze.
This time we chose to ride bicycles to visit various small villages, and the scenery along the way was endless.

Mei's Grand Courtyard is the most (or perhaps the only) interesting sights in Taishan. A large open space, which was once a bustling marketplace, is surrounded by old, three-storey buildings. The eclectic mix of Chinese and Western architecture reflects the history of the Chinese diaspora, as many of them went to America to make a living and sent money home. Most of the houses were built in the 1920s and are now in disrepair. Therefore, come as soon as possible. This place is away from the city centre so hiring a car is a good idea.

This is a neat place and a world heritage site where they have many small vendors and shops. It is much better during busy season cuz there are many many more vendors during the off-season it's very slow but probably better to take pictures.

I was here with my husband for an International Moy (Mei) Family Convention. It was interesting to be in a place where his parents and grandparents walked.

My aunt said the places use to be old houses, but now locals have transformed them into small stores. It's really old and rustic looking there. I didn't go up any of the buildings. There are vendors who sell some food, desserts, hand made crafts, tea, etc. The courtyard is small and there's not much to do there. I had some 豆腐花 (tofu in a liquid sugar/honey) then took a lap around to take some pictures,
