As the myth goes, goddess sita is said to have spent some time here during her exile. The forest is very beautiful. It being afternoon, we did not have much luck with the animal sighting.
In the middle of the forest is this ancient temple dedicated to Godess Sita. A small stream of fresh water runs adjacent to the temple. The temple is serene and amidst the dense forest. Even though we did not see many animals, visit to the temple itself was very satisfying. One has to be cautious about the monkeys around the temple and be careful not to carry any eatables in hand.
On our way back we spotted a wild elephant and many peacocks dancing.

This ancient temple is situated in Jim Corbett National Park in sitabani zone. If you are coming from Ramnagar on the way to kaladhungi road to sitani turns left.

This temple is dedicated to sita, the female goddess of the epic Ramayana. Legend goes she spent her days in exile after agni pariksha it is said she lived in this place only with her son Luv & Kush.

We booked are guided jungle safari worth rs. 4800 it was already 4 pm our safari started cool breeze, pin drop silence in the forest was both scary and beautiful at the same time moving ahead after almost 1 hour of safari we reached sitabani temple.

Lush dark green forest all around an ancient temple situated near a small stream of fresh water was scenic and beautiful loved this place but it was scary because if you are standing in the jungle you never know who is behind those trees and bushes.

I personally loved this place and mythology behind it.

We finally left hotel without single day stay and lost all 50% that is 11k for two rooms.

1. Accommodation
There are three rooms in property they called FRH, DhakBangla , Sky cottage
• FRH and DhakBangla is in the same floor separated by single door so no privacy please note this and because of old property There was damp everywhere and the entire building.
• Sky Cottage/ Insects cottage :- They should change the name to Insect cottage you can find all insect inside the room. We found around 20 spiders , Lizard, and many other big insects all around the bed.
2. Food
• Food taste good but no popper food serving cutlery
• If you see this Hot box for chapati and Rice you are not able to eat food for sure.
3. Once we reached their electricity cut from last 24 hours so No Power, No Power Backup , No Fan, No Internet.
4. First I highly not recommend you to book this property and still you wanted to book don’t book in summer and very humid and No AC.

its quiet a dangerous zone and mornings and noon are okay timings, nothing great to see, the temple is old and the local deity is present in idol, but its far off the main market area and is quiet abandoned.. so do take care and avoid drawing attention to yourselves by making much noise or wearing flashy clothes. wild animals.

When you are taken to this part of the forest, you are already demotivated by the fact that you could not go to the main forest area. But make it here before day break and experience the jungle in silence and I can bet you that you will have a much similar if not a better experience of the jungle here. Less chance of sighting a tiger for sure but is that all that matters in experiencing a jungle? Not for me.
The temple is deep in the forest and I saw hordes of Deer moving around the place. It has a certain mystical feeling about the place and I loved it there. There is not much to see... no guides to tell you a story but being alone in a deserted temple in the middle of a jungle made it an experience that I remember fondly.

It's another jungle safari zone where you can go with your private car (Who have good ground clearance i.e Eco sports, Vitara Brezza, Duster, XUV 500, Fortuner etc.) you need to pay ₹ 250/- (INR) for Vehicle entry and ₹ 100/- (INR) per person and the ₹ 50/- (INR) for camera charges...Beautiful jungle surrounded by hills and a near a water body must visit might be chances can see tiger too

Until we reached here, we did not know the place at which Laxman had abandoned Sita, near Valmiki's hermiatge, where she gave birth to and raised her two sons: it is so obscure on the web and otherwise. Would we have been able to experience that special energy which pervades Sitabani if we had not known, if signboards were absent? Perhaps, yes. One can travel to the temple area of Sitabani without any permit, by merely informing at Teda gate about one's destination. Sitabani has tigers and elephants who do not know/recognise human boundaries. Visit in a car with a silent engine, drive as slow as possible, keep the ac off, all cars sound off and windows down, keep mouth shut and listen to the forest as the car moves. This forest communicates in various ways. Stay attuned, leave enriched, come back humbled and in awe.

a very good and pristine site for a quiet drive alongside the ramganga river bank (a tributory to Kosi). sometimes when lucky you can sight the Wild elephant and also the various animal species like Sambhar deer wild boar. i myslef had sighted a Tiger and a Big Monitor Lizards. on the way to Sitabani is a small grassland full of Spotted deer and there a Tiger can be soughted, coz where there is a Prey there ought to be a predator.

i have been here multiple times and experienced lot of wildlife and the enjoyed the tranquil nature in the drive. the temple in itself is a relevant to the Indian Mythology but to me what matters more is the journey to the temple.

so it is a must go

TIP- Try the maggi served outside the temple where you park your vehicle. it is delectable.
