Rather than staying at Hotels, one should opt for home stays in Bakrota Area. It is the most serene and beautiful area of dalhousie away from the hustle and bustle of Gandhi Chowk and other commercial areas of dalhousie.

On the outskirts of Dalhousie lies Bakrota Hills. Hills are generally preferred to be enjoyed from a distance, but a walk in these hills, surrounded by thick forests of Deodar can be really refreshing, especially after a long travel.

It is a mountain passage and you pass through it when you go to Kalatop from Dalhousie main market. From here you can have a look of peer panjal mountain range, depending of weather. Few nice hotels are there like Amod.
