We were pleased to have visited Dartington Crystal. There is an interesting exhibition space and then the opportunity for a tour - which essentially means you get to see the factory in action - all with no charge. It was fascinating see the various items all being hand made, though we would have liked the opportunity to ask a few questions There is a big shop at the end, but no pressure to buy anything. Well worth a visit. …

We visited the Dartington Crystal factory today which was very interesting watching the glass blowers and beautiful glass on display in the shop. We had a coffee in the cafe but were a bit disappointed that nowhere on site was the NHS Covid-19 app to scan. I asked in the cafe and the answer was that most visitors are elderly and don't have access to the app. They wrote my phone number on the back of the till receipt and put it on a pin with others. Although the cafe was clean and the staff thoroughly cleaned the tables and chairs in between customers my friend and I didn't feel as confident that if anyone had a positive test that contact would he guaranteed. Also the majority of visitors when we were there were aged between 35 and 65 so what do they class as elderly!!? I think like most places I've visited they should make the NHS bar code available, they can still take details but people should have that option. I'm sure a great number of 'elderly do now know how to use apps! Other than that it was a lovely visit. …

We visited the Chrystal Factory on a very wet & windy day while on holiday in Devon, one of the main reasons we went because it’s advertised as dog friendly, well that couldn't have been further from the truth, your not allowed to take them into the factory tour, your not allowed to take them into the cafe but you are in the shop 🤷🏼♀️ What a complete waste of time, the staff were also rather unfriendly which didn’t help either, don’t advertise your dog friendly when your not, I certainly wouldn’t recommend it.…

Although there were restrictions due to Covid we still enjoyed our trip and I think I enjoyed looking and reading about the history of Darlington more as I was able to take more time and not be hurried along as before. We decided to go to the adjoining cafe and enjoyed a Devon Cream tea. We then headed back to the building to walk through the glass making factory which is free of charge at the moment, I would say the social distancing became a bit more of a problem in this area though, I had a lady behind me that kept singing and kept willing the line to move on, she was very impatient! The tour ended up in the ship which sells some wonderful glassware, some good seconds too. It was a nice trip out for a morning and would recommend …
