I’ve visited the plough arts centre a few times, once to attend a hustings and the others to sit down and enjoy a coffee. There’s a great atmosphere there, and they truly cater to all.

EXCELLENT ARTS CINEMA which shows a variety of unusual films from around the world, plus an entertaining selection of more mainstream movies, too. Normally has three or four films each week; current releases, often foreign language, art house and just plain unusual films which don't...More

This is a real find. Quietly tucked away in the heart of Great Torrington sits this cafe-bar-cum arts centre. We went and saw for £6 each a filmmaker, Mick Catmull, talk about his film shot over a year on three farms in West Cornwall near...More

What an excellent venue in this tiny town...unbelievable! Fantastic selection of films, including live screenings; brilliant theatre (Miracle and the Rudes especially); superb art exhibitions and workshops. I am taking one mark off because the cafe and provision of hot drinks is unreliable.

What a hive of activity for such a small market town. It has food, live events, workshops, films, art galaries and exercise classes. The Plough entertains, inspires, educates and challenges you in equal measure. What a gem.

The plough never fails to make great food, I always go for the soup and sandwich deal and the food is beautifully fresh and there's plenty of filling! The staff are always polite and chatty as are the chef(s). It's a lovely atmosphere for lunch.
