Packed full with fascinating local history, this charming, haphazard little museum is well-worth a visit. Really loved it! (Big thank you to the volunteers who run the museum - it's a gem.)

A small free (although donations gratefully received) museum in the centre of Torrington. It is full of local artefacts concerning lace making, the civil war and WWII. Information boards about local 'celebrities' including the Rev Keble-Martin. Some beautiful artwork about flora and fauna. Many artefacts...More

Great Torrington, one of the last battles in the English Civil War. The battle of Torrington 1646 - learn all about it here, then walk around the town and see the Church which was blown to bits! Visit the other places of interest in town....More

This museum has so much packed into it. From local civil war facts to information about glove making. Well worth popping in if you are in town.

This museum is in the process of growing. Lots of interesting displays, well laid out in the limited space. The volunteers were enthusiastic and well informed on the local history. Altogether a place well worth spending a bit of time visiting

It is something to do in Torrington and whilst it is not big, it is still interesting. Perfect option if it is a rainy day.

Their website said they were open but - in reality - they were closed for the winter... It does so deflect from what is obviously a good attraction if these sorts of mistakes happen.
