About
The Spiritual Home of Scotch Whisky. Revived after 523 years. As custodians of Lindores Abbey, we have made a very sincere commitment to protect this important landmark for future generations. In 2017, spirit started flowing once again from copper stills at Lindores Abbey Distillery. Learning as much as we can from the great Scottish distillers around us, past and present, and from others much further afield, we are bringing a very modern whisky-making approach to this ancient site. We are open for Tours and you can book online. Refreshments need to be pre booked.

Nice history and whisky tour in a beautiful distillery
We went to the Lindores Abbey Distillery for a tour and we had a lovely time. It was very nice to see the distillery process and it really expanded our knowledge of our favourite drink. Our Tourguide (I'm not sure but I think his name was Tom) was a very nice and funny guy who could really take you through the history of the distillery. I'd definitely recommend this for whisky-lovers who are in the region.
    Thank you so much

Thoroughly enjoyable tour - and produce!
What a wonderful distillery, yet so young. It's good to see that they are developing the site and brand based o. the long history of whiskey distilling there. Ronnie, the guide, was wonderfully at imparting his knowledge of the history and the processes - entertaining as well. For us, it was disappointing that they were in the midst of their cleaning period, so no aromas or sounds sounds . Will certainly look forward to trying the bottles that we bought after the tour, especially the Aqua Vitae.
    Thank you

The Lindores story is just getting better and better
A wonderful informative tour. Right from the booking to the arrival and check in we were well looked after, On the day itself Ronnie was a great host. Although we have visited other distilleries the story at Lindores is special from the history to the Whisky Line - we learnt so much! The Abbey was so impressive and the whole setup was excellent. We will definately be back with other friends! The drivers kits are a great idea and we enjoyed the drams upon arrival at home. Big thank you to all the team !
    Thank you!

A fun, interesting and tasty experience!
My son and I did the distillery tour with Tom as our guide. It's a beautiful place and the tour was fun and interesting. Tom was a friendly and helpful guide and we thoroughly enjoyed the tasting (you get to taste two spirits). Thank you for a fun experience.

Fantastic location to visit with the whole family and the dog 🐕
Fantastic distillery with lots of history. Our tour guide Tom was very knowledgeable. The distillery is in beautiful surroundings with lovely views. We were able to take our dog with us which made it netter so all the family could go and after the tour we went a walk around the Abbey grounds. Would highly recommend if you are in the area as it is both beautiful inside and out. Different to other distilleries we have been too as there is the history going back to the monks and the Abbey. An amazing day.
    Thank you so much!

    A young distillery definitely worth a visit…
We were lucky enough to be shown around the distillery by Michael, whose passion came through in our introduction to the distilling process. A young distillery, but not one to be overlooked. After our tour we enjoyed a shared platter I had pre-booked as a surprise for my husband, which was excellent quality. All the staff are really friendly and not only pride themselves on their product, but also on their service. If passing make this a stop on your next trip.
    Thank you

    Fabulous experience
Excellent experience, we had a fabulous enthusiastic guide named Michael, very knowledgeable & great sense of humour. Although they had stopped production for a couple of months, to give the containers a thorough clean, he still showed us around everywhere, so we could understand the full process from ploughing the fields for grain, explaining where the water is sourced, to filling the bottles. There were 7 in our group, a family of 4 from Belgium & 3 of us.Great Fun! Thank you once again Michael, I never did get to see what was under your Kilt! 😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤️ Karen, Dave & Kelvin xxx Our friend Ingrid was poorly & unfortunately couldn’t make it 🥲

    Don’t miss out on Lindores!
Michael was easily the best tour guide we had on any distillery tour! He is poised and has all the knowledge to share! He was also engaging, funny, and amazingly personable! Visiting lindores was unforgettable and we can’t wait to go back!
    Thank you

Cracking wee distillery, well worth a visit.
I’d never heard of this distillery before, just happened to pass it on a bike run the day before. Booking was easy and decently priced, for the 90mins you get and the couple of wee drams. Michael, the tour guide, was great! Very friendly, funny, informative and gave a great tour. The distillery was ‘silent’ when we were there but didn’t detract from the experience. Not just a distillery but a visitor centre, with some amazing history, going back to the 15th century. Relatively new but achieved so much in this short time.
    Thank you!

    Definitely worth the pilgrimage!
Great visit and such a wonderful, informative tour! We arrived a few minutes early and the staff made sure we took a few minutes to see the abbey located just behind the distillery. The abbey scenery was a unique and fascinating part of the history. I would recommend taking a few minutes to see it! Donald led our tour and it was the best distillery tour we have been on! The history of the site and the whisky were amazing, as well as the absolutely beautiful building. The whisky is also well worth the trip! Our pilgrimage to Lindores Abbey Distillery was a highlight of our vacation!
Thank you so much, so glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Phenomenal place. My husband was here for the whisky and I was mainly here for the Abbey history and both of us were delighted. Our tour from our guide Ronnie was outstanding. We're now just gutted we didn't have our wedding here.

Out of all the distilleries in Scotland we could have toured, I truly think we selected the best one! When we saw the segment featurirng FJC and Vesper in the Netflix production, Inside the Mind of a Cat, we decided that this would be the one distillery we would visit during our upcoming trip to Scotland. While the kitties didn't make an appearance, David gave a top-notch tour. How fortunate that out of all the distilleries we could have toured, this one is literally the oldest and newest whisky distillery in the country! We were blown away by the exquisite 'monastic' design, including interesting historical touchs, and the superior distillery, itself. How impressive that you cut no corners in each step of production AND run a green operation, producing the finest product. Lindores Abbey is truly a brilliant operation producing fabulous whisky!

This is a must-do experience if you're in the area. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. Visiting a smaller distillery was so interesting, and the history behind this site makes it even more worth visiting. The whisky is excellent as well!

Great visit, very well explained and friendly. I learned a lot about Scotch. The facilities and production is fairly new, 2017 but the history behind Lindores is fascinating. Audrey our guide was excellent and took the time to explain it all with some good stories. She really went beyond and likes her position. Thanks

Wonderful tour nicely presented. We were driving but got our drams home and enjoyed them later . We had booked one of their platters for after our tour, lovely fresh local ingredients and plenty of it . To finish off a look round their shop and of course lots of great whisky to buy . I have been round many distilleries and this one took a bit of beating !

The distillery itself is fabulous with great and unique story behind it. Donald who did the tour talked us through the whisky production process in a very fascinating way. I would definitely go again.
