The management has to visit other dams that are maintained in Kerala. The park and view tower is poorly maintained. Othwrwise, the view and place has interesting attractions.

Mettur dam also called Stanley reservoir is located in Mettur a small town in Salem disctrict. It is one of important dam in taminadu built by British.

Mettur Dam built by British before independance dam constructed betweek 2 mountains 120 feet hight storing cauvery water from karnataka for agriculture and drinking purpose very nice to see.

Nice place for tourism around salem district. Children would learn and enjoy a lot. Park has snakes, play area for children and fresh dam fishes are available.

simple place just go to relax , go with no expectations just enjoy the surroundings and scenes. There are no shops near by so carry water and snacks.

walk around the park at the dam, hydro electric power plant can be seen Also the view at the top of the dam is good carry water bottles and sunglasses, will be hot /sultry.

Water is always cleanly maintained here. we can take Holy Dip on the Pushkaram day ( ie ) on 17.09.2017

No Restrictions as for as Rain is concerned to visit the Dam. only the area of restriction will be in the surplus area where we cannot able to take a bath
