A very large 16th century Jain temple, with an interesting symmetric architecture. The audio guide provides a good oversight of Jainism.

We were driving from Jodhpur to Udaipur and wanted to visit the Jain Temple at Ranakpur for many reasons. The temple site is a little off the direct route but allows the onward drive to Udaipur to follow a pleasant and narrow road through the...More

The temple is 2-3 hours from Udaipur city. Its a beautiful temple. Take an audio guide for a better understanding of the place. The INR 200 is worth it. Foreigners should be careful of the temple priests. We noticed the priests chatting up only with...More

The journey to the place, which is about 40 kms interior to the highway, is a bit strenuous because of bad approach road. But one forgets the strain on reaching the temple. The temple was built with marble, like many of the Jain Temples. One...More

During our time in India, we visited a few remains of Jain temples, but this was our first visit to an active temple. It was a strikingly different place that showcased a distinctive style of architecture and craftsmanship. The structure is more straightforward than most...More

Wonderful. Great craftsmanship. Delightful experience. Good audio guide. A few disrespectful tourists, totally ignoring the placid guard did little to enhance their credibility. Really worthy of the distance travelled.

A quite breath-taking example of a Jain temple. Magnificent in its symmetry, there is something extraordinary at every turn. It doesn't open until 12pm and is great to get inside away from the heat of the day. The list of prohibitions to comply with is...More

We wanted to travel to Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh on the same day. So after Kumbhalgarh Garh we started for Ranakpur. The road has a ghat that you have to cover. We reached the temple at 4.30pm. The temple architecture is fascinating. The pillars and art...More

Massive Hindu(Jain) temple. There are some steps to climb without shoes. Interesting insight into the breakaway Jain culture. The whole complex is supported by more than 100 columns none of which are the same. The perfume in the toilets is not Chanel.

From Falna, there are regular buses for Ranakpur starting from 708 am itself. Another option is to come to Udaipur and take a taxi to Ranakpur which is available all the time.

I don't have any idea about Falna. There are irregular bus services from Udaipur. Better you should hire a car, travel for exact two hours, enjoy the ambience of the temple for at least three to four hours and return to... More
