Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Marvelous beach with shallow water, naturally well protected from the wind so it's pretty much a beach/playground. The average age of people who frequent there is around 50. It's either elderly people or families with little children.
We didn't like the oversized sunbeds and trendy umbrellas that don't provide any shade. Actually, very few people did. They were pretty much empty while the bathers preferred the shade of the trees.

Although this beach is next to the port, it offers crystal clear waters. It has been given a blue flag.

You can use the amenities that the nearby restaurants offer or just place your towel on the sand.

The sunset is amazing. I climbed to the nearby church..Aghia Marina..for panoramic views and even better experience during the sunset

A beautiful sandy beach that reminds me of home. Crystal clear waters that welcome you for a swim. The whole experience was great and the cold water can really pull you through the Greek summer weather.

I invite everyone to visit this beach. You will not regret.

We don't hang out all day on beaches but this place almost made us. It is very big, lots of space to walk. There are bars and restaurants right on the beach but other parts of the beach feel remote. The water is shallow for a while so you can walk out in the water a long way before it gets to your knees. There are umbrellas and tables and chairs and stores nearby to buy things and take them to the beach.

Kamares is the main port in Sifnos and the beach there is the biggest of the island. A family friendly sandy, shallow water beach well maintained that has almost all the necessary facilities such as showers, changing cabins, sun beds and parasols but not rest rooms. Many shops, restaurants, bars, cafes and accommodations are very close as it is located right next to the main road of the town. Despite its closeness to the post it is suitable for safe swimming and the water is clean transparent. Not my favourite beach in Sinfos, but perfect for families and couples too. Two sun beds and a parasol come at 10 Euros for the whole day. You can also enjoy a beautiful view of the sunset. Disabled friendly also.

Very clean beach with pristine waters. Plenty of sun beds which one can rent or sit at one of the cafes on the beach, order a drink and the sun beds come free.

The three biggest beaches on Sifnos are the ones at Platy Gialos, Vathy and Kamares. The last one is ideal for guests staying at the Hotel Boulis, because from there one has direct access to the beach without having to cross a street first.

As on most beaches nowadays - be they big or small - the Sifnos municipality has installed showers and changing cabins. Privately owned are the sunbeds and umbrellas for rent everywhere, but there is usually still some space in between for people, who don't want these services.

All this also applies to the sandy beach of Kamares. And at both its ends - towards Kamares itself and towards the hamlet of Agia Marina on the opposite side - are cafeterias and bars with outdoor seating.

What I like about Kamares beach is the fact that one can start swimming almost as soon as one gets into the water, although it doesn't really get deep for a long time. Thus non-swimmers can wade into the water for several meters, but they have to pay attention to the fact that in some parts there are stones on the ground, it is thus not all sand as on the shore.

The whole bay is also big enough, so that there is enough space for swimmers, who though best go as far out as possible, until the line with markers that separates the beach area from the part further out, which gets used by boats and the ferries of Sifnos' main harbour.
