A visit to the 900 year old Burg Hohenwerfen (translates "high castle of Werfen") provides a fascinating glimpse into Austria's past. The audio tour was excellent - informative, entertaining, and featuring scenic vistas at every window and rampart. The "Birds of Prey" exhibition was also...More

Castle Hohenwerfen is located not far from Salzburg. An audio guide tour is organized every 2 hours and you take 50 minutes. Between guide tours you can profite from a little attractions for children, a bar, or performance of predatory birds.

If you drive from south to the north, or Vice versa, stop and go visit that beautiful castle. Nicely preserved with some atractions such as falcons.

If you've never been to a castle it is interesting. This was our first one so we enjoyed it but not anything spectacat about this particular one to draw you there if you've been to others

A very exciting and fun castle for young and old. Free parking. We loved the birdshow. You got to see the birds really close! The audiotour was translated to a lot of different languages. Even Swedish!😀👌
