My partner and I got the idea to go to the ice caves from google imaging Salzburg so we did it on our last day there. As we are trying to do things a bit cheap on our trip we did it ourselves rather than...More

We drove from Salzburg and parked our car near the entrance. After buying our tickets, we walked up about 20 minutes to then take the cable car. After the cable car you walk about another 20 minutes to the entry to the cave. The group...More

Controversial I know… I'm basing my review on effort vs reward. The journey up to the entrance of the cave is a real slog, 20 minutes initial walk, then a queue for the cable car, then a hard 20 minute walk to the cave, I'm...More

This was an amazing trip and experience! Well worth the hike and 1400 steps. Great views even on a cloudy, wet day. Very friendly tour guide with English and German.

Take the tram up! It cuts off a 90 minute hike beyond the 40 minute hike that it already takes to get there. Was a very beautiful cave but be prepared to hike, there are over 1400 steps inside the cave!
