There’s nothing Japanese about what’s on show at this theme-park-cum-museum, yet it is quintessentially Japanese, in that you would not find anything this quirky anywhere else in the world. Impressive collection of ‘automatic musical machines’ from Europe that are at least 100 years old (including...More

It amazes us how they have sourced, shipped the automatic instruments to kawaguchiko and maintained the instrument so well keeping it in performance state. We went for all the performances, the aria, the sandart with violin and piano and the instrument introduction. Loved the sandart...More

This place is about music boxes and automated music machines from a German Belgian early 1900 years in a Disneyworld environment. I think its is highly overrated to what I was expecting (like a musical forrest!). Some of the excitement I dont understood here. And...More

Small but educational, contains a stunning collection of automatic music machines with a decent show where they played a selection of them (English text on what the presenter was saying was simple but effective). Organ Hall was good, a variety of shows were scheduled throughout...More

Its set up mainly as a stop to fill the tour group schedules. It's small outdoor area with the only worthwhile offering possibly being the musicians that sometimes play there. We looked over the fence, got a general idea and walked away.

The garden and scenery are absolutely top notch. We were lucky enough to get a clear day and Mt Fuji in the background makes for some amazing photos. We entered at 4pm at which time the entry price goes down to 500 yen per person...More

Though a pity not being able to enjoy flower blossom in winter season, the well designed garden is still a recommended spot for a 2-hr stride. Imaginable the garden would be incredibly joyful in summer or fall with all different species of flowers. The musical...More

I was very surprised buy this museum . First you can change in a costume and be a princess. Second the collection of the music boxes is incredible and they are in perfect state and play very nicely and loud for some all of them...More

The garden is lovely and the collection of orchestration boxes is pretty cool, but the admission of 1500 yen feels too high for a garden you can finish exploring in 30 mins. The fare drops to 500 yen in the evening, so I recommend going...More

As a family which didn't really like theme parks etc, we thought this would be a relaxing stroll in a park with some classical music. It turned out to be much more than that. Spread out over a few European style buildings, you are able...More

There are several souvenir shops in the museums. I didn't see any DIY workshops for such but you should be able to buy one with your favourite songs.
